So, my hub is cooked after 7 winter seasons of good times. 197x12mm rear hub, 32 hole, Shimano HG, usual standards. The shop is going to email me with their options tomorrow. Any brands that are well recommended or to be avoided? The one guy didn't like the Novatec one that they found right away in the system, so they were going to go through and note the various options. I ride a moderate amount, am heavy and don't shy away from tech. I don't tend to big jumps on it, but 2-3 foot drops aren't anything I think twice about, send that 💩 all day.
Budget is Buy Once, Cry Once, but don't send the wife into a deep depression. I need quality, but I'm not going to Mars on it. I asked for mid range choices, above entry or OEM, but not super premium.
I was riding, it's been slowly degrading lately. Came up to a steep climb. Fired the Watt Cannons, and realized I was spinning at top speed rolling backwards, with some very unhappy chunky sounds from the back end.
