Just got my Elops 500 ready for Autumn/Winter in a German City. Most relevant upgrades:
- Drop-down handlebar from Decathlon
- SRAM S500 Brake Handles
- Prowheel 48t Crankset
- Drift Maniac 18t Freewheel
- SRAM PC 1 Nickel Chain
- Shimano PD-T421 Pedals
- Decathlon Gravel Saddle
- Thomson Saddle Post
- Specialized Pathfinder Pro 32mm
- SKS Raceblade Pro Mudguards
All Upgrades were probably as expensive as the full bike, but I like the outcome.

With mudguards and spoke reflektors! Wells done!
Yeah, pimping up this bike is easy to do, heavy on the budget and satisfying as hell. Source: I’ve modded mine as much as you 😀
Nice set you have there, I’m opting more for sleek look, but I envy you having fenders, those are very reasonable for autumn/winter. Well, I’m staying unreasonable again this year!
Fenders have been the best upgrade on my SS commuter.
Spoke reflectors are a simple yet effective and stylish way to be better seen at night.
