  1. Too much weight on front ?
It depends on the bike and geometry. It’s a thing to test and refine over several rides.

    Have fun !

  2. I run only weight on the front while touring the issue I think is you have a what looks to be very heavy tent high on the front. If you were rolling just the paniers I don’t think you would have much wobble. As other commenter has said, some bikes don’t like to be front heavy. My bike loves being front heavy. Maybe try to cut back some weight as this is pretty full load out. You don’t need much clothing when touring , so maybe you can break up your tent to fit inside the front two paniers.

As you tour you will get rid of stuff for sure and dial in some of your kit. Have fun! Reminder to get out there as much as possible.

  3. I pack too much on my tours with less bags. I think you have too much bag capacity and that will make for a very heavy bike. But, you look ready to roll. Have fun

Every bike handles weight distribution differently, and truly it’s a learning process to figure out what you like for each bike. Put simply, what you do for one bike may not apply to another bike. There is some trial and error.

    Some guidelines I’ve learned:

    * the steeper the head tube angle the more you can comfortably front load
    * the slacker the head tube angle, the less you can comfortably front load
    * heavier items lower improve your bike handling
    * heavier items higher worsen your bike handling.
    * front rack stiffness affects wobble (if the rack wobbles under load, you feel it more than on the rear rack)
    * uneven front load can affect wobble
    * width of front load can also affect wobble
    * too much load on the rear can affect wobble
    * Loose front load (moves when you turn) can affect wobble – extra straps for the win.

I hope those help you analyze and figure out what works for you on that particular bike!

    See you on the road.
