here is the simplest set of steps for a perfect Bulgarian split squat that you will ever see step one place your back foot on an elevated surface with your knee on the ground pushing your hips through until the front of your body is flat at this point pull your front foot back so that your leg forms a 90 degree angle step two straighten your arms and lean your body forward into your front foot until your hands are directly over the middle you should feel an equal and normal feeling of balance from Heel To Toe with ninety percent of your weight driven into that foot with your shin and torso at roughly the same angle your back foot is there primarily for balance with just 10 percent of the weight resting in it then step three while maintaining this exact position grab the dumbbells and drive yourself away keeping them directly over the middle of your foot I like to look down and actually watch them imagining that they’re on a fixed track traveling perfectly up and down finally keep your hips and shoulders Square to the wall in front of you it’ll feel as though you’re leaning the middle of your chest over your knee and front foot perfectly in balance

With Bulgarian Split Squats, there are many different little variations/tweaks that people successfully implement (such as changing the angle of the front leg to bias different musculature/take pressure off certain joints) But this right here is how I do a standard Bulgarian Split Squat
Also, try experimenting with lower foot elevations on the back leg. It can really help people maintain balance and therefore, increase the effectiveness of the exercise. Often I will utilize an elevation of just 6 to 8 inches or so. Give it a shot ✊🏼 hope this helps

I was always using the end of the leg curl machine. You can do this by putting your foot onto a hard flat surface or even a flat bench. It feels unnatural.
