Bought my first road bike used off FB marketplace.
Seller said he bought it in 2019 new for ~2k usd, mileage: ~500mi
Was full 105 groupset and he upgraded wheels to DT Swiss R23 spline (I think) and the rear derailleur to ultegra
Good deal? Or did I get ripped off, my LBS who’s giving it a tune up said worth tops $500 but idt he saw the upgraded wheels

I think you did fine. Don’t sweat the price. Remember, the more you ride the cheaper per mile it is.
That’s an amazing deal, especially with the upgrades and the low mileage + hydraulic brakes. I’d pay $1000 for that easily. This is in my opinion the best alloy frame that cannondale ever made…it looks better than the latest CAAD13 and tons of crit racers over here prefer the CAAD12 over the CAAD13 for the more aggressive geometry.
I have no idea what your bike shop is talking about…$500 tops is insane considering you can’t even get some used hybrid hydraulic disc brake bikes for that price…That’s how much the stock rim brake version sells over here in my local market and there’s a very competitive market here. The guy also upgraded the crappy stock maduxx wheels with some very solid DT Swiss wheels…and the ultegra rear derailleur upgrade is great if he went with a longer cage for a larger cassette.
