My bike has the same RS through bolt and idk how it happened, personally it’s not a huge deal to me. The chances it gets into its locked position and actually turns with any force while riding is next to none

You can buy very cheap replacements on Temu, they are not much more on Amazon. Sometimes the plastic nut on the other side gets stripped. I keep a spare set with me when I ride just in case. I have lost an inner spring when transporting in the past.

I had this issue recently. On the lever there was a hex bolt to tighten that fixed it

  4. Looks like you have some form of a Rock Shox with the Maxle through axle. Since it looks like the axel itself is tight, you have to add tension to the axel lever.

There is a small bolt in the middle of the lever that you can tighten by a few clicks to help solve this problem. Use this [video](https://youtu.be/xH54fozbo4I?si=kdJIsMoaP6wjTtOz) for reference.

  5. From open position, try tightening small hex head screw. Then close. If it’s too tight after, then slowly loosen hex screw.

Do yourself a favor and go buy a RockShox Maxle Ultimate in the correct length you need it is 1000 times better than that style you have and is only 60 bucks

  7. On the opposite end of the axle, use a 3 or 4 mm Allen key to provide counter-tension to the lever side, which will allow you to tighten up your QR and snug the axle.
