Hey Fellows, it’s time I will Sell my Gravel for an MTB. I don’t care about the Speed anymore 🙂
I like the steel Surlys and have an option to buy this Krampus frame for 650 €
I don’t like the colours they sell now
Good deal ? I’m into bike building now anyways, would be fun to build a Travelbike by yourself.
Geo is not different between KM and Krampus, would it smart to pick the KM because of more versatility? I’m a big guy and I want to give 29ers a try. I heard 29+ is rare nowadays? How about 27,5+?
I want to ride it with the Moloko Bar and looking for custom frame bags for the surly as well as a nice front pizza rack style thing for big drybags.
Any recommendations?

I have a Krampus and my wife has a Karate Monkey. We do lots of bike packing on them, both technical singletrack with few bags, and dirt road and bike path with heavy panniers.
They’re almost the same bike. The Krampus takes slightly bigger tires, and I personally love running 29×3″ tires, but the 2.5 – 2.8 options are nice too, and those work great on the Krampus. I’m just all about big tires, even if I’m just riding pavement, it ups your gear ratio too which is nice as the chainring size is limited on MTBs. I don’t know if you can make a wrong choice, I think it’s the right choice when an opportunity comes along and you’re stoked on the price and color. It’s such a a versatile bike.
