Im running a 12 speed drivetrain but my new chainring is hasn't arrived yet, i was wondering if I can still use this for a few days while waiting for a new chainring. And how many links will i need to add to the chain as I'm going from 50-34 to 52-36?

Looks pretty torched to me – there’s a fair amount of sharktoothing going on there.

You might get a few miles out of it, but you might as well replace it now since you are going to do it anyway
If it’s the old chain, run it. Replace chain when you replace sprockets or the chain will kill the new sprockets quick. Get a chain checker tool if you don’t have one.
Might not need to add links, measure as you normally would
