One more link might be nice but since it’s a hard tail you’re not going to have any chain growth so it should be fine.

If it’s too short you probably wouldn’t be able to get it on the biggest cog.

Is the derailleur able to take the slack out of the chain when it’s on the smallest cog? Is it difficult to shift into and out of the largest cog because of the higher tension on the chain?

Looks Gucci to me. Does it grind going up into that gear or hesitate to come down off it?

Chain looks good here, but the rack placement is curious to me. If this is your bike attached to the rack, check where the exhaust is being directed. I would hate for it to be pointed at your hub or rear derailleur, which could melt the lower pulleys or cook the grease in the hub. Don’t ask me how I know this, but it can happen.
