Hey everyone,

I’ve been riding my ol’ S6L for years now, and it’s been an absolute workhorse for commuting and a bit of light bikepacking. It’s got its battle scars, squeaks here and there but i think that’s one of the reasons of why i love it.

But lately I’ve been wondering: Do you ever look at the newer models and feel the pull to upgrade? I’ve been eyeing the C-line and wondering if the differences are really worth it. If you’ve made the jump, what pushed you to upgrade? Any regrets, or was it a game-changer?

Just curious to hear your experiences. Thanks all so much!

There’s not a huge difference honestly and one of the good things about Bromptons is if you really want to you can upgrade it with modern components.

I don’t think there’s much point upgrading till the current upgrades just introduced on the electric P line are brought to the rest of the range, just keep your bike in good and well maintained condition, also OP what front bag is that?

Maybe a blind for more engaged gravel, but for the rest, honestly, more gears is a bit like more faff. The ratio is better but not amazingly so.

Don’t get me wrong, more gears is good, but they don’t extend the range meaningfully enough.

As for the lighter p line, this one is quite cool, but if you are not carrying your bike much, it is same same I think.

But if you like adventuring with your Brompton, maybe the globe is a good bet, albeit the much larger footprint.

IMO, I like my cline as it is, a workhouse of a bike, not the best for everything, but that I can brung on overnighters and just for regular commuting trips.

So my 2 cents: only the g line is wildly different from the others. If you want a folding bike for the wilderness, there is nothing quite like it. Otherwise, having driven the c/p/t lines, I am personally still stocked with my old c line (plus the colours in silver themed bike are cooler for me)

  3. Not really, no.
I love my little H6R, have only had it for half a year but its currently my fav bike.
Tbh I don’t really see any big difference between your bike and the current C-Line, apart from the fact that yours has the way cooler colourway.

  4. I have a 2012 and not really thought about “upgrading” in the strictest sense.

I do want to test ride an electric G-Line, but I’d still be keeping my electrified 2012.

2013 M6L. What does a C line offer that’s a diff experience? Color? I still ride it crazy places and just rode to Nigara Falls from Rochester NY.

  6. Mine is a 2014 and I was thinking to upgrade it a few years ago. Then I electrified it with the Swytch kit and I never thought about it after that. I did 4000 miles since I got the kit and I really do not feel the need for a new bike.
