Some shots of my two 14-day Morocco trip, crossing the country from South to North. I started in Marrakesh, headed into the high Atlas, ended the trip in Tétouan. The route was supposed to be mostly off-road, but had to modify it a little after a crash caused by a dog, and the final 5 days were pretty much 95% tarmac.

I loved how rapidly the scenery was changing, every day brought new landscapes and experiences, from the desert in the south to the lush forests up north. I also found it a very easy country to travel through, plenty of resupply options and easy to find wild camping spots. People are genuinely friendly and kind, only some kids were causing trouble – their attitude was getting worse closer to more touristy places.

  1. Nice photos! You have a great eye. Mind sharing what your camera setup was? (And where the hell you fit it on that bike. 😂)

How did you handle the flight? Did you put your bike in a cardboard box? I’d like to do a trip too, but I’ve only flown once before (without a bike) 😬 So I think I’ll start with backpacking from Portugal and then hitchhike towards Morocco.

    Great pictures. Wow.

Sorry to hear about the dog. I had that happen in Morocco too as I was out hiking. Luckily someone came and kicked the dog away.

I also had all the village boys come out and throw stones at me yelling “Nazarene, Nazarene!!!” Or, “Christian, Christian!” I got out of the stones reach as soon as possible. It’s a harsher sort of place.
