Hi! I am a beginner, mostly riding flowy singletrack and trail riding in South Central Alaska (Johnson pass, resurrection pass), at most I'll do small drops and jumps. I am riding a 2025 specialized rockhopper sport 27.5 in XS and am looking to upgrade my suspension fork from the stock Suntour XCM. I am very confused about compatibility, and I'm not sure if my steerer tube is straight or tapered. I was looking into the DVO diamond D2 and Marzoxchi Bomber Z2 as options that might suit my use case. Thanks in advance

Rockhopper will have a straight steerer tube. Not tons of upgrade options. Best bet would be like a Rockshox Judy or Recon that has quick release drop outs. You might fine a nicer fork with a straight steerer but it will likely have a thru-axle for the wheel, in which case you would need a new front wheel.
