I have a 2001 Schwinn and the original Tektro 907 was rusted beyond saving so I bought the Odyssey Evo 2.5 because it’s highly reviewed. The arms are slightly longer than the Tektro, and the hanger is longer and a tighter angle. I swapped for an old school hanger but it freaking sucks. I can’t get it to hold tight to the cable for the life of me, and when I really crank it down the main cable goes sideways resulting in an off-angle pull of the straddle.
I can’t run this around the seat tube because I don’t have cable stops there.
My problem is I can’t set the pads without them stopping the wheel from the get go, or if I give even 1mm more slack to the straddle cable then the lug pops out of its mount.
Do I need to give up on this calliper?

More pics please. I’m guessing you should be using pads with long screws and only one small washer (maybe more idk) on the outer parts, stacked washers inside
And don’t hack it with ill fitting parts like that cable part that connects to the left arm
One piece cranks woof
