First of all, this MF’er looks huge, unless you are very tall this will not be comfortable. Second, you’re paying for the name. Nothing wrong with a litespeed (I have owned a few) but you could get a similar bike with litespeed branding for less or in better condition for that price. But if you love it, and fit on it, and want to spend the $$ to fix it up (who knows how much that will actually be), go for it.

  2. At $500, he feels like he is giving up a bike that was supposed to last forever. You would be spending $500 on a bike that is easily outperformed by other options that might cost a bit more money that need less work to ride safely and reliably. If you dreamt of this bike back in the day, go for it. If you want a reliable bike to enjoy with today’s expectations it’s a hard pass.

My opinion: it’s a steal to the right person. To someone else it’s an old bike that needs work which is mysteriously 300 more than other similarly aged bikes on marketplace. Someone who knows this is a cool vintage frame and knows the brand would probably pay a bunch for it. The seller either doesn’t realize this, does but just wants to sell quickly, or it’s fake/stolen. I don’t get stolen vibes from the pictures. I also don’t know enough about this bike to swear it’s authentic.
