So I just picked up and properly took out for a spin this Trek Madone 4.7. I bought it used for 300 euros, and it just feels like a tremendous upgrade from my Triban RC100 in every single way possible. More aggressive and more comfortable at same time, and shifting is just a delight.

In the future I'd be interested in trying to fit 28mm tyres on it to improve comfort a bit (it has 25mm now and front has hairline cracks on the contact patch) , do you think that would be feasible? I found no official guideline for the maximum tyre clearance on this one.

  1. Looks good! That’s how I got into it (also with a used trek)! Ride it a bit and see how it feels before putting more money into it, I’m also not sure it can go beyond 25s. Anyway – have a good time on it!
