2004 Tour de France Alpe d’Huez TT – Still the Race of Truth?

The Tour de France decided to have a TT up Alpe d’Huez in 2004 and we made it there in our 1978 VW camper a couple of days before the mountain was closed off.

This was the drug fuelled era of US Postal and quite a few other teams, see how fast they go past at 350 metres to go!

Armstrong won the stage, but was it still the Race of Truth?
Subsequently him and his whole team were struck from the records.
We were there with a Canon MV700 DV camcorder to capture some of the scenes.
