  1. Then grab it with your hands on either side of the stiff link and work it laterally/sideways, flexing the chain perpendicular to the direction of the bike. It should loosen right up. Same applies for when your chain snaps and you have to put it back together by removing a link.

If that doesn’t work then sure, maybe it’s a dud chain but it’s always worked for me.

  2. well, huh. I guess you should just throw the whole bike away.

OR, you know, wiggle the chain back and forth a few times to loosen it up.

You can fix that easy, I’ve had it happen before. Just bend it back and forth and loosen up the connection between the links

  4. Weird how you took time to put an arrow on the first pic. Second pic is enough. But dude sounds like you just don’t want to bike your bike and are looking for an excuse. Just push it back down into place and bend if needed.

  5. Yep, bend it back and forth laterally and that’ll come out in a second. That or just see if it’ll spin and loosen up through your drivetrain. The bike’s not made of glass

Have you tried moving it, add some lube.

Jfc god forbid you have a problem on trail, you might as well call in a helicopter evac for a flat.
