Hello, my name is Susan and I’m a 62 year old woman that retired and I sold my house and I’m traveling the world on my bicycle. I hope you will join me for my adventure. Thank you. Good morning. I’m on the bike path here near Nice, France. Um, yesterday I got a hotel room here. I have not had luck finding campsites when I’m near the coast. So, at the end of the day, I just uh got a hotel room, but it was nice. Went out for some seafood last night and treated myself. And uh this morning should be headed toward Monaco and then Italy. So, it should be a threecountry day pretty easily. And uh so yeah, yesterday I had some scrubbing going on with my brakes and I stopped and got them adjusted and they did good for a while and then they started scrubbing again. So, it was kind of like riding with my brakes on. So, I had planned to go to a bike shop this morning, but now it’s not making noise. So, so I don’t know what’s going on. Um, but anyway, I will uh check in later, show you how the ride’s going. But right now, it’s a beautiful day, perfect temperature, and I think I have one climb today, and the rest of the day is pretty much like this, flat along the coast. So, should be good. Heat. Heat. [Music] Ajaca [Music] nom. Nord. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Wow. [Music] Sure. [Music] Anjaka [Music] nom. Well, it’s been a fun day of riding thus far. I um am here in the country of Monaco and I’m near where the Grand Prix race starts um and and the circuit. So, uh decided to stop for some ice cream. So, I’ve got a little citroron sherbet. I love lemon. And then another one that was a frozen yogurt that I assume was a vanilla because it just said yogurt flavored. Very nice combination. All right, so I think this is country number seven. baby. We have the the UK and Ireland, France, Spain, and Pandora. So maybe this is number six. Um Monaco, and then Italy, which hopefully I’ll get there later today. We’ll see. Um will be number seven. So yeah, unless you want to count Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales, and England separate, but I hear mixed things about that. So I’ll count it all as just the UK. All righty. I’ll check in later. Italy in one kilometer. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Welcome to Italy. It looks like my bike lane just ended. roof. [Music] Heat. All [Music] [Music] right. So, I made it into Italy and to a town called Vintimelia. And um I think I only got in like 35 miles today, but it was a lot of up and and then a lot of distractions uh cuz I had to look around Monaco and um I spent a little extra time at lunch talking to some cyclist which was a lot of fun. Um, so one guy that lived close to here and then a couple of guys from the UK showed up and so I took my time and enjoyed socializing. Um, but yeah, now I’m in Italy, country number seven, and um, looking forward to tomorrow being I think pretty flat. At least I hope so. Um, so I got uh today the the climb uh that I went over was the cold de and it’s been used um in the tour to France and the gear ditalia so Italian racing routes and um so it’s kind of fun to see some of the painting on the road and but yeah really steep steep climb definitely had to push my bike a little bit on the steeper parts. Um, so yeah. Well, I’m going to get cleaned up and go eat some authentic Italian food. So, I’ll talk to you tomorrow. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Heat. [Applause] [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat.
