I build this bike more than 10 years ago and drove it daily and for bigger tours for years. Recently renewed all the cables and added the front rack and box. Not sure about the box…
Do you have any recommendation for bulkier tires? Manly for street and some gravel backroads

I have pretty much the same box. I’ve been using it for about a year with no issues. I had to hold the corners of the box with double bands. But I usually put my fully loaded 15l backpack in there… so

My Univega Alpina was my first real bike I bought as a teenager in the 90s. I still ride it to this day, love that thing. Chromoly frame, and I recently converted it to singlespeed as my city commuter. So much fun to zip around with.
Hey OP, can you shim or adjust with a large hammer and make the front rack level? I’m thinking about future you, and transportation of a tasty pizza box on said rack??
Also the cable protectors are nice!
