We’re going to talk about the best cycling glasses of 2025. We’re going to talk about different price points and different styles. And don’t worry, if you wear a prescription, we got you covered, too. Hey everybody, my name is Sunglass Rob from Sport RX. I have been riding bikes pretty seriously since 2007, and I’ve been working with eyewear since 1996. So, I like to think myself a little bit of an expert on this topic. Today, we’re going to go over cycling glasses, our favorite ones of the year. But before we get into that, I want to talk about what makes a pair of cycling glasses a pair of cycling glasses. There’s a few things you really want to look for. The first thing I’m going to mention is something a lot of people don’t think about, and that’s how they work when you’re in the arrow position on a road bike. If you are tucked down into the drops or if you’re using a tri bike and you’re down on your elbows, a lot of glasses, if they’re not really thought about for cycling, you look over the top of the glasses, which is not fun, not comfortable, and if you wear a prescription, kind of dangerous cuz you’re not looking through your prescription anymore. So, all of these have that kind of thought in mind and work really well when you’re in that more aggressive cycling position. The other things to look for are a little bit more obvious and talked about. You want a lot of coverage. You don’t want wind or debris to get in your eyes. You want them to stay in place. So, they should be lightweight or relatively lightweight and have some rubberized grip on the nose or the temple or ideally both. And a lot of the better grips stay in place. The more you sweat, the stickier they get. So, that’s pretty rad. And of course, you want them to be compatible with helmets. That’s kind of the basic things you’re looking for. On top of that, lens wise, my favorite phrase is less stop, more pop. Dark lenses aren’t really advised so much for cycling. You want to have a contrast lens. Something in the rose family, the brown family, the amber family. My personal favorite is rose or a photochromatic lens that gets lighter and darker. You really want to get a lot of contrast. You want to be able to see everything. You don’t need to be so dark and block everything as much when you’re talking about like regular driving glasses. There’s a lot of different ways to talk about all these glasses on the table. We decided to break it up into four categories. We’re going to talk about shield glasses. We’re going to talk about semi- rimless open on the bottom full wrap sport glasses. We’re going to talk about full wrap eight sport glasses. And then we’re going to talk about six base glasses, which means they wrap but not as much as some of these, which have some benefits actually. And we’ll get to those at the end. The first category we’re going to talk about are shields. This is what a lot of people think about when they think about cycling glasses. This is that full wraparound one big shield kind of design that’s open on the bottom. The idea with these is you’re getting so much coverage. You’re getting so much peripheral vision. There’s nothing on the bottom to kind of block your vision. You can very hard to look over the top. This is the 100% AOC and I just love how futuristic this is. And the lens quality on these is fantastic. I think maybe 100%’s best pair of cycling glasses ever. If you’re going for as light as possible, 100% Speedcraft is your choice. They’re unbelievably lightweight and kind of a really cool look to them as well. And then if you want something with easy interchangeable lenses and you do like that full frame just to get that security, the Smith Shift Mag has a really trick interchangeable system. Next, we got full wraparound sport glasses that are open on the bottom with like an interchangeable system. So these are really cool because you can easily pop out the lenses and have different colors. This category also works much better with prescription than the shield. So a lot of people end up getting these that need prescription. And this is kind of a cool traditional look. If you don’t want to have such a sporty kind of shieldy look, this is the next best thing as far as functionality and you can get your prescription in them. The one I’m wearing is actually my personal pair. This is the Oakley Flack 2.0 XXL that just came out. We got videos on that. They’re really rad. The Rudy Project Rhydon has been Rudy Project’s most popular frame for I think 10 or 15 years now. And it’s because they’re amazing. They’re super durable and they have unbelievable adjustability. They’re so comfortable. Here at Sporter X, we actually also designed our own pair of semi- roomless glasses. There’s actually a whole family. We have the Olsen, there’s also the Olsson S, and then we have a more female focused one, the Cadence. They all are amazing, and they all work with prescription. Next, we’re going to talk about full wraparound, which in the industry we call a base glasses that are have a full rim around them. A lot of people like this look, they don’t like the open on the bottom look, and for a lot of people, me included, the frame on the bottom doesn’t really bother me if the glasses fit well. This is the Nike Zeus Rise. These do have my prescription in them with the photochromatic lens. These will turn brown in the sun. We can do that for you when you get them in prescription. And these have adjustable nose pads, adjustable temples, all this venting. I think this is the best sunglass Nike has ever made. We also got to talk about the Oakley Lateralis. This one is really lightweight, really comfortable, and comes in some really cool colors. And then if you’re looking for something a little bit less expensive, the Bolle Chimera is a really cool frame. Ble’s making a couple of cool lenses that I like for cycling, but again, if you need them in prescription, we can customize them any way you want. Last, but definitely not least, we’re going to talk about sixspace full-frame glasses. Six space refers to a frame that has some wrap. It’s not as flat as regular eyeglasses, but it’s not as wrapped as some of the other glasses. The idea with these is they look more like everyday sunglasses, everyday eyeglasses. They’re not so sporty looking, so you can wear them off the bike just as well as you can wear them on the bike. The idea with the pairs that we’ve designed, actually we have our own collection of these glasses and they start at $99 with prescription. I know that’s unheard of. Check out sporterx.com. Is that we have a bunch of hidden features on these. They have nose pads and temple pads that stick to you. The hotter you get, the more you sweat, the stickier it gets. But they look like everyday glasses, so you can wear them whenever you want. Thank you so much for watching this. If you’re still watching, we’d love a thumbs up. Please subscribe to our channel. If you have any more questions, you can pick up the phone. I know a little bit old school or go on our website and chat with us. We also have a lot of information on our website about cycling glasses. A lot of us here ride to work. We are into mountain biking. We’re into cycling. You can give us a call, speak to somebody who actually rides a bike and can help you get the best pair of glasses you’ve ever had. And if we get it wrong, you can return them. Yes, you can return anything at Sport RX. Even custom prescription cycling glasses are fully refundable. We pay for shipping both ways. We try and take all the risk out of it. So again, thank you for watching and keep watching. The next video up is a cycling sunglasses buyer guide or an Oakley road lens comparison. That one’s really fun. [Music] [Music]

Nice and a great video right where I'm looking for glasses 😂 could you tell me which lens and which model the SMITH has on the table that is right in front of you
I live in sunny SOCAL. I use the Oakley SUTRO with Prizm Road Lens and I love it
The problem with casual styled glasses is they have larger gaps which allow bugs to get through with the air flow while ridding😂
Which are better, the options with two lenses or the shield option?
What would you guys recommended for someone with wind sensitive eyes. I bought "WYND Blocker" glasses from amazon that did the trick and stopped my eyes from drying after my bike rides but wanted wrap around lens that could have the same effect as the WYND Blockers. Basically I want a wider range of view because I feel like the WYND Blockers are obstructing my view a bit. I have not been able to find any wrap around lens with the type of foam gasket that the WYND Blockers have which seem to stop the wind drying out my eyes. Thanks for any reply's in advance.
Any opinion on the Koo Alibi?
