I’m eyeing a used Triban RC 520 road bike in L size.

Here’s what the seller shared:
• Specs: Shimano 105 11-speed front and rear derailleurs, 28mm Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires. Aluminum frame, carbon fork, disc brakes TRP HY/RD.
• Condition: A few scratches (see pics below—not major, mostly cosmetic).
The seller said that the saddle is not ideal and it needs to be changed.

Yeah, probably. Depends on what the total weight is. If it’s under 11-12 kg you’ve done well.

The components look good for the price – Shimano 105 and disc breaks. The wheels look pretty OEM and will probably the worst thing about this build. Triban is owned by Decathlon. They make serviceable bikes and you’ll never be missold on quality.

Although personally for style points I would try to get a Cannondale, Giant, Specialized etc. at a similar price point, but I Imagine you won’t get disc brakes at this price point.

  2. It’s a bike that costs around 1.000€, so yes, the price is good as long as it is in good condition and the size is correct for you. The saddle is not the original one though.
