  1. I always want to like Dangerholm builds more than I end up doing. So many of them are just kinda (my subjective opinion) too over the top and tacky.

I chuckled and sort of stopped taking him at all seriously when he recently doubled down on a build with 2.1” tires on 45mm internal rims. He clearly did it for looks but he insists he’s been riding them for some time and they ride great and that “gravel tires are still the wild wild west” or some such. I mean, again, it’s cool to experiment, but it also feels like a piss take and it’s clear that engagement on social media is what he’s after more than functionality.

I appreciate people who do different things, and I appreciate trying to put a little artistry into a bike build. Just not to my tastes most of the time.

  2. I like the brass wire and feel dumb for having never thought of it. The gauge seems too thin and like it would cause damage over a relatively short amount of time, but still.

    They gentrified my x-biking!

Jokes aside, I like the components, but the rest of the bike looks pretty butt ugly. Is that fake rust, too? Tacky asf and it looks heavy for no reason.

  4. Love Cjell Monē and his builds (which this doesn’t seem to be but does use some custom Monē bits). A typical coaster brake “off the shelf” Monē build is much more rich boy xbiking than this oddball.
