  1. I feel like this needs a thru-axle, not a QR skewer. Or one of those thru-axle > QR adapters. Unless I’m missing something? None of my old QR bikes ever had that much space.

    You’re missing the end caps that remove the play and allow the QR to sit centre and correctly.

    Patch job by Dr frankenstein who sold it to you. Wrong part . You need a through axle or to buy from more reputable people. But dont feel too bad . Everyone who buys bikes from crack head thieves who patch together shit to make a quick buck goes “through” this. Go spend money at a bike shop.

    Why are you trying to put a QR skewer in a wheel that needs an axle? Did you ride it like this?

    What is the make and model of bike, and is it quick release or thru-axle?

    Because you have a hub set up for TA but there’s a SQ skewer in there. Either your bike is QR and needs the hubs to be adapted, or your bike in TA and you need to buy the correct axle.
