I was thinking of chopping down the legs so bring the basket weight lower and closer to the steering tube, but I enjoy the weird handling and the not having to work on my bike for an hour.

I just joined the Wald front basket gang too, and have been commuting all week with it. It’s definitely a different feel. I find myself slowing down for bumps and curb cutouts etc
I think I would have used spacers to attach it at the fork drop outs, along with the fenders.
hell yeah this is so rad! what’re the fattest tires you think you could get on there w/ fenders?
