First bike – Gravel:
6061-T6 aluminum frame ~11.5 kg. 700×40 Chaoyang tires. Sensah Ignite 1×9 brifters. Shimano Tourney TY300 RD. No-name hydraulic brakes. No idea what the bottom bracket is.

Second bike – Road:
6061 aluminum frame ~12.5 kg. 700×28 Kenda tires. Sensah Ignite 2×9 mini group (Brifter, RD FR). Hollow core bottom bracket. Mechanic brakes.

Both are clearly budget Chinese builds. I know what I’m getting into, just want a final confirmation from you guys before I decide.

  1. One is faster but less comfy, do you want speed or comfort and versatility? both have trash drivetrains, I personally would rather buy an older name brand bike with better parts

  2. From your comment i would say the gravel is the best option. The only limit might be the clearance for a bigger chainring (if you want to turn it into a road bike). Make sure to buy the right size.

What are you paying for either? I don’t think either are that good of options to be completely honest.

  4. Get a gravel for the versatility. Maybe you want to go fast, throw some skinny tires on it. Maybe you want to do some heavy trails, throw a suspension fork on it and go nuts.

  5. So i ended up getting the gravel. It’ll arrive in like 3 day. I’ll update on the the quality when i got the time.
