And today, we’re heading towards Le Bugue. We’re not following in the footsteps of our prehistoric ancestors, but in those of our much more recent ancestors: those from the early 20th century, to the village of Le Bournat. The Dordogne River, which
we’re crossing. We’re going to follow it a little… The village of La Roque-Gageac, which I’ve already introduced to you. If you’re also familiar with Marco Tiopet’s channel, don’t hesitate
to check it out. In one of his videos, he shows us his visit, including
a short trip on a barge on the Dordogne. “Marco’s Roadtrips.” So, La
Roque-Gageac still attracts just as many tourists, even though we’re now in a
lower period of the tourist season. The castle! And just after La Roque-Gageac, we see the magnificent Castelnaud Castle. Beautiful view, of course.
Then Beynac Castle, which overlooks the commune on the banks of the Dordogne. Magnificent views… What a region! And the road we’re taking is just lovely.
Very nice, even. Good surface, beautiful bends. So, we’ve reached the end of this
Depth Road 49: really nice, Not very long but very pleasant. And so we arrive in the
commune of Le Bugue. Le Bournat. “The one that turns is the running millstone, underneath the dormant millstone…” “If we experience the history of our past, we give ourselves a chance to evolve in the right direction, and thus offer ourselves an ideal future.” There we are. We’re leaving Le Bugue after a short day spent in the 1900 village of Bourna. Isn’t this road lovely? The bends are quite tight. Result:
Since there are two of us on the bike, the stand rubs a little. On a tight bend, with bumpy roads like this, it
can happen… There you go, it just rubbed. We’re now taking the D52. This is a chance for me to say hello to my friends! And I thank you for still being here
watching the video, after spending part of the day in the early 20th century in Le Bournat and Le Bugue. I’m driving on D39, I’m heading towards a must-see site in the region. I’m talking about Rocamadour, of course. This little country road that leads there
is typical of this place: narrow, winding… This little road is
the one that will allow us to discover one of the most renowned sites
in France. And the view… isn’t it magnificent? This allows us to gain height, then descend and dive into the heart of the canyon, (you could call it that!) whose cliff faces the village of Rocamadour. We’re very close to the site. I turn the camera
a little… and there you go! Nice, isn’t it? The road is superb, but what catches the eye here is not the road… it’s Rocamadour! Rocamadour, ladies and gentlemen! And here we are… So, we’ve visited Rocamadour. We’re going
to leave the town. Of course, we’re not going to deprive ourselves of looking
once more at this magnificent village… clinging to the cliffside. Yeah, this place is truly superb. I love it! And so it’s on this road that I leave you,
after this visit. I hope these few images have interested you. This clearly illustrates
