She was dragged away from the boat by a strong current and when her brother tried to save her, they were both pulled down the river. Their dad jumped in and tried to catch up, but the kids were too far away. Now, if they had kept going, all three could have drowned. So, instead, the boy swam for help while his father stayed behind. He doggy paddled over a mile until he finally reached the shore and his family was rescued thanks to his bravery.
