Welcome to short highlights of this year’s Trey Valley Valini. The third of the Tatico Lombardo races that step our way towards the final monument of the year in this region in Lombardia at the weekend. Let’s have a look at the course. It’s based on the tried and tested three valleys route a 20 km ride northward to reach the edge of Berets where they take on eight laps of a 15 km tough circuit. two climbs each time in actual fact as well. The Montello climb being the main one. The day started with a breakaway of five riders including AJ August, Kevin Konei, Lorenzo Millesi, David Balerini, and Matea Bais. We’re looking at pictures here though of the remaining rider from that breakaway. Lorenzo Milacy, the Italian for Moby Star being caught by Egan Bernal. Egan Bernell, the Colombian road race champion, on an absolutely cracking form today as well and really putting Tatty Pagacha and his UA team Emirates team on the back foot by being out front and looking so strong as well on the final of those eight laps going up to the Montello Climb and heading out onto the first of the Baraso circuits. By the time we got out there, climbing up and away from Lake Visi, it was Egen Bernal who was dropping Lorenzo Macey. Mey doing brilliantly just to stay in there. He was the only rider remaining from the original break of five. Anyway, UAT Emirates had put themselves on the front. It was Rafael Micah doing the chasing and actually it was Isaac Del Toro also getting involved which meant we were starting to think this might be a day for Tad Pagatcha. You can see the world champion down there. Freshly crowned world champion of course for the second time and the freshly crowned European champion Tali Pagatcha. But sensibly other teams and other riders wanted to get on the front foot. It was the American champion Quinn Simmons who rode across to Lorenzo Mace and eventually the work of Simmons would bring Mace and himself back in touch with Aeen Banal at the front of the race. It was looking at this point like UAT Emirates were being put properly on the back foot again. Riders determined to get ahead of anything that Tatty Pagacha or Isaac Del Toro might try on the day. Brilliant job was being done by Rafael Micah of UAT Emirates, the Polish road race champion in the last few weeks of his career. Then came this attack here from Afonso Ulleio, the Portuguese rider for Bahrain Victoria’s. snappy turn of speed to get away from the clutches of UA Team Emirates and see if he could join the breakaway up front. These were little jibs and jabs, you see, as part of this battle to try and get ahead of UA Team Emirates and what they might have planned. This was the uh the Bell passage of the line with 30 km to go. one of the laps out towards uh the Baraso climb and then one more half lap of the circuit they’ just done to finish on the climb itself as well. Well, an attack did come from behind and it was actually after Victor Lafé had charged away by himself. Isaac Del Toro going across to him. They joined Afonso Ulleio out front and Talipaga had neatly tagged on with that group too. This was a chasing group going across to the three out front. You could just see the face of Aen Banal looking round to see who was coming. Penny for his thoughts when they saw it was Tatty Pagatcha and Isaac Del Toro as well. Now Del Toro at this point looked like he might be in a support role there for Tatty Pagatcha despite what some people had expected coming into this race that it would be a chance for Del Toro to be if it were to be that way the chosen rider for UAE team Emirates. But they came onto the descent back down to the lake and Talip Pagacho was pressing on. In fact, he was pressing right on. Alphonso Leo complaining maybe that Tattali Pagacho was using the slipstream of the motorbike as well, but it was right there. It was a closable gap. Quinn Simmons did his best to close the gap too. And I have to say at that point, group two syndrome started to set in. They didn’t stop chasing, but the chase wasn’t working. Whether it’s a lack of tactics or a lack of ambition behind or whether it’s just the superiority of one of the greatest road racing bicyclists of all time in Tatty Pagatcha. I’ll leave that to you lot to discuss. It’s probably a little bit of both. There were still riders though determined not to give up. A foremost smoke those Tom Pitcock attacking and he was being joined by Jamarco Golfy of Sud Quickstep. Tom Schwin also going with it and we were having a very elite chase group that was forming. Primos Roglitch was in there. Isaac Del Toro was back in there as well. Gophil in really good form as is Tom Schwinch. As you can see, there were a couple more coming across. Ben Tulit was coming across to the group two. And on the descent back down to the lake, the long descent back down to the Lago de Veres, it was Tarip Pagacha in very familiar time trial mode, tucking down and extending that lead. As you could see, the 47 48 second gap was back to that very select chasing group behind and they were chasing a very familiar figure in Taliba. And the chasing group was swelling, too. They’d been fed by riders who’d come across from what remained of the Pelaton as well. Dathlon Azidel Among the had riders there in numbers too, but Talip Pagata just continued into the final two kilometers as well. Solo by himself, not the 75 km solo that he’d made to win the European Championships just a couple of days before. If anything, by Talia Pagacha standards, leaving it quite late in this race. But he was made to work for it. Ben O Connor attacked late from the group behind. He was chased by Michael Store of TUDA Pro Cycling. And we had a really big group boiling up for a sprint. But it was a sprint behind this man Ty Pagatcha who took his 19th win of the season and with it the 92nd victory for UAT Emirates this season too. a step closer to challenging to become the greatest Il Lombardia rider of all time in the final monument of this year as well. If he can do it, he’ll he’ll be going five in a row on Saturday. This was a sprint behind. It was Albert Philipsson, the teenager, the 19-year-old Danish rider for Leaning up ahead of the rest who were behind this man who just continues this incredible form that we’ve seen from him all season. What a man. What a ride, what a result, and what a season, too. They’re going to need to think very carefully about how they go about trying to beat him on Saturday in this region in Lombardia for Il Lombardia on Saturday. You have been warned. And there’s the top 10. Taliba ahead of Albert Philipsson and Julian Alipe, the podium finishes ahead of a fast finishing Paul Lapera. Thanks for watching and enjoy the run-in to the final monument of the season. [Music]

  1. Everything was prepared for Del Toro win but alas, he did not have the legs, so UAE had to go with their favourite tactics: The POGHAMMER! 😂😂

  2. He's got unbelievable race intuition. He just needed to see a little bit of hesitation from the group, and once he smelled the blood, the prey was his.

  3. UAE needs to be banned from the sport much like the ridiculous UCI did to Israel Premier Tech.
I also don't like shampoo as I have dreadlocks…therefore I'd like to see Alpecin banned.

  4. Imagine being a cyclist the likes of Remco. World class talent and legs to match, multiple TT championships, gold medals and the like, and yet having to realize that he's not even in the same class as Pogacar. I mean, we all know Remco isn't going to outclimb Pog in the real mountains, but on these one day races you'd think he'd at least be able to challenge him to the line. Nope, not even close. And with Del Toro becoming the racer he's becoming, who's going to challenge Pog next year with Del Toro and others leading him up the climbs? Nobody. I can't see Pog not winning The TdF for another three or four years. 8 yellow jerseys? I don't see why not.

  5. You ‘boring’ folks are hard for me to understand. From the time Bernal was up front, it was noon stop action with the race blown to bits.

Maybe the coverage could’ve been better to show the various splits happening, but it was riveting to me up until the gap went out to a minute. Even then attacks were still firing up until the last k or so. To me that’s dynamic racing.

  6. It’s getting insane now from these riders… race after race for years now the chase group always fumbles catching Tadej. You’d think by now they would’ve figured out they can catch him if they stop with the games.

  7. Pogacar is so good, no doubt about that. But he drafts 3-4m behind the motorcycle when he attacks, downhill as well. Super unfair towards the others, especially Simmons. The guy riding the motorcycle should be fired.

  8. Idiocy about lack of proper tactic and lack of will is constant present in those moronic comments
Hey guys! It's called the SUPREMACY of the greatest cyclist in the history of the sport. G.O.A.T.

  9. Nobody works together as they all would rather just say, "I got a 2nd place behind Pogacar". A 2nd place to Pogi is as good as winning a race he wasn't in. 😂😂😂

  10. let urselves be remeinded: riders never use the slip stream of motor bikes, the motor bikes do a terrible work on keeping the distance. the riders will always be there where the less energy is needed.

  11. il faut que des coureurs prennent le large sans pocatcar les autres derrière doivent suivre pocatcar et c est ce qui c est produit a Monreale qui a était une chance pour alaphillipe.
