My 25yr old new-to-me Brompton has been on six airline flights (with me). Upon returning from the last trip I found the post supporting the roller wheel broken and bent. The local tractor repair shop did a serviceable job of TIG welding it. On the upside, my 3d printed wheels held up.

  1. how do you pack it? Is it in a hardshell case or cardboard box or are you just putting it in a dimpa bag padded with clothes?

That is because you installed 3d printed wheels. Original wheels will break instead to prevent the frame from cracking.
But I’m glad you found someone who helped with welding as there is no easy fix to that otherwise.

  3. get a bridge repair kit from Eerdermetaal Netherlands if you can. it would strengthen the bridge. oh toss those 3d printed wheels away and put on Brompton ez-wheels which is designed to absobed the impact and break itself before the force made it to the bridge
