Good morning. It’s day number 27. I can’t quite believe it. I’m just having me breakfast. I’ve got overnight oats, peanut butter, and fresh bread from the bakery from yesterday and the biggest pair I’ve ever seen. Hello. Um I can’t believe I’ve only got two days left after today. The original plan for today was just to do 98 miles. But last night we had a think and I was like actually I’d rather do 148 miles again today like I did yesterday and then it leaves me a little bit less and don’t have to finish on 200 miles on Friday cuz that’s quite a long way. So especially on tired legs. So 148 mi today. I’m going from here in Champagnol to Pontia which is where stage 20 finishes. Unfortunately it’s pretty much all uphill from there because I am at the minute down here. I’m going up. I’ve got a little descent and then I’m going up up up all the way to the end. So, that’s not going to be good. And then after that, I’ve only got one stage left, but it’s a massive transfer to Paris. It’s Yeah, really. I think it’s 450k or 550k, something ridiculous. So, I’m then doing this straight after the stage, 42 miles, which is what originally I was going to finish on. But then I’m gonna take a bit out at 328 and I’m going to finish around up here somewhere so I have a climb at the end of the day. Going to finish in Dijon, but I won’t be getting any Dijon mustard because I’m allergic to it. Sorry about the angle there. Anyway, going to get this down and get on the road. I’m feeling a bit tired, but I know that once I get on the bike, I’ll be okay. Right, I’m ready to roll. Kyle’s here. You right, Kyle? On his phone. Laura, you look like a madam. He starts singing, don’t I? Yeah. And over there we have the biblio. Laura, that is one thing you don’t need. Right. Anyway, the sky is blue, so it’s time for me to go. It’s only 10° this morning, so got me jacket. I’ve been bitten. Oh dear. That was a novel. And the good thing is about today is I’m actually literally still on the tour route. I’ve not had to come off it at all for the accommodation cuz this is literally the route and the accommodation’s there. So, straight back onto the route, my friends. Let’s go. Oh, Kyle Burger. [Music] Oh, blum neck. I’ve just come down a nice long descent, so my legs are nice and full of lactate. And I’ve got an over 1,00 foot climb, but it’s a really steep one at the bottom. It looks like there’s a lot of red coming up on my Garmin. So, yeah, I’m going up there somewhere, I think. So, I’m ready to feel the burn. Lovely. Nice breakfast. Call me that. It’s a burn, I tell you that. My legs can feel it. I was on a 16% gradient down there and two sheep dogs started chasing me. Luckily, the turn around when I shouted, but oh, that got me going a bit faster, I tell you. Focusing on the sun. It’s beautiful. This is not so beautiful. Put me in a jar on pickles. Went over up over 1,000 ft in 2 and 1/2k. Not nice on tired legs, but I got a little yippy now, so all is good. Oh, look. Bonjour Vash. [Music] Another burner to go up now. 469 ft this time. So, not as bad. Mercy, thank you for the climbs. Now this village really loves the tour. Hello mie. Someone’s actually painted vivour on their roof. Hang on a minute. Nearly there. That my friend is dedication. Give me that. It’s great. It’s actually like I was struggling a little bit but boosted my spirit seeing all the tour stuff. I won’t see any more Tour to France decorations until the final stage day after tomorrow. So, got to make the most of it. Hello there, little fellas. Yahoo. Right, we’ve got a 630 ft climb to do now. It’s only 3.3K long. It’s got a few steep bits, but it won’t be as bad as this morning. Just going to get up there now. I’ve only got about 17 miles left of the stage, so not too long till I see Laura and Kyle with my milkshake bringing the boy to the yard. Hello. I’ve really gone to town here with the decorations. Love it. 0.9k to go to the top. It’s not that bad, actually. Hello, mate. just up there to go and then I’ll be done with the big climbs of today. I think I’ve got like one little one near the end to finish, but not too bad. I’m almost at the finish of the stage. It’s not the nicest finish when you’re on open roads because a bit of a dual carriageway and then it’s a road like this. Luckily, it’s not too busy, but I think I’m about 2k away from the finish. So, almost there. Gabby, shake, shake, shake your mama. As usual, the end is just on that road there. It’s never nice on the road on the road. I mean, it’s never nice to be fair. You know, the end is always very nice. We went in it like earlier. It’s really nice. But that’s where I think it’s where that tower is. That’s good. God, you say you got me speak. Can we have that drunk first and then we’ll we’ll cut the camera and deliver. Right. I’ve been struggling a bit this morning mentally, but Kyle said he’s got me some goods to keep me keep me cheery. So, let’s do it. So, first things first, let’s go savory. First things first on the real list. Ooh, chicken wrap. Kool-Aid wrap. I love that. The next stop that would be my next stop. Yeah. And then Oh, almond croissant on delights. Oh my, they look amazing. Right in there as well, just in case. Right, hold that. I’m going to do a taste test. Let’s take a picture of them. They look really good. They’re too good to It was a In fact, it’s the highest rated blue laundry we found. Where was it? Was it 4.9 rated out of five? Really? Where did you find these? What? Where was it? The road. Yeah, it was like a 2-minute walk. Right. Which one should I as we just before we start packing the car up, we got these. I think I’m addicted to calling almonds. That’s off. You know, um Hunger Games mocking J. Right. Let me do a taste. This looks like a good one cuz it’s flat. When they’re flat, that means they’re really good. Yeah. Yeah. Cuz these are more like not like traditional. Is that a good one? Mhm. Plenty of icing on that as well. It’s nice. Really good one. But it still doesn’t beat that first one. Kyle, that first one was ridiculous. That first one. That one. Yeah. But I’m starting to think, honestly, Laura, that first class I had in France, it wasn’t just because it was the first one. It was just so No, I’m starting to think it might have been cuz it was the very first almond class I bought and it was from a very good bakery. It was the best one. Anyway, eat this and then I’ve got my song for you. This morning I was struggling. I went past this pile of logs when I was doing that horrible climb and the sheep dog chased me. I thought I wish I could just morph into a log and just lie there like that now. Just be a log and then get burnt on a fire and evaporate into the sky. And then I thought, no, I’ve got to keep pedling. The only thing evaporating to the sky out of you is something coming out the rear end. Sweat and sweat. And wet sweat. Anyway, I’ve got a song for you now. Then I think you might know the song. Do you know that I have a tiger by Casey Perry? Oh yeah. Yeah. Familiar with it, Kyle. Tiger. Well, get ready for the remake. There we go. You ready? Yeah. It might go a bit wrong cuz I’ve only just made this up in the last two miles. So, the lyrics still are in production. But I used to ride my bike just for fun. Chai latte cafe. So much g. But now it has become something that hurts my bum. I’m riding the tour to France. I start at the start. I didn’t think I had a chance, but we are almost there. My bum it will repair. I’ll spin my legs. We’ll make it there. Um, and then he’s gone a bit wrong, but there we go. From Ro. We’ve got Laura. She’s joined the team. DS Junior under Kyle’s wing. She cooks my tea. She makes my shakes. There’s nothing she can’t undertake. We’ve got Kyle. He’s the main man. You drive the Scoda. He makes the plans. He visits all the bakeries. Just to find an old classic for me. Because we are the dream team. We’re riding on our way to Paris cuz I am a cyclist and you’re going to see me ride my dogma riding up to par. Give me peanut butter and you’re going to see me ride. You’re going to feed me almond quissant. You’re going to give me peanut butter. Whack the shammy on my bum. M. [Applause] It went a bit off tune at the end. A little bit. The lyrics are still in development, but I was quite proud of that. That is phenomenal. There’s a lot goes into it. There’s a lot. You can tell we’re riding on her own for quite a few hours. Yeah. Well, when I’m struggling, I start I put the playlist on Spotify. I did notice you had music on. I see what song comes up. I’m like, “Right, let’s remake this bad boy. I was proud of that one. Riding with Laura now. Llan. 43 miles with Laura. Laura was impressed with me French again this morning. Oh, is that I keep singing this all the time. No rest for the wiki. Wiki wiki wiki wiki wiki wiki. That’s a song made up. Basically, no rest for the wicked. And I keep annoying Kyle with it. Well, when Kyle gets a bit stressed, Kyle, there’s no rest for the wicked. Me and Laura spoke. I don’t get stressed. I’m just focused. He gets your word for it. No, I’ve got a plan. Oh, we rattled through that hypermarket like Yeah. And that was a It wasn’t a big hyper market where it was big. It was like it was like a military operation. Bam. Going to have another go at the song now on the phone. So, basically that’s stage 20 done. We’ve only got one more stage of the tour left. We’ve got a big big transfer to Paris. So, I’m starting off with Laura. Doing this with Laura. 68.94 km to where we should have been staying tonight, but we’ve added on an extra like 60 mi today because I thought I’d rather have less of a day on the last day cuz the original plan was a 200 mileer to finish, but I thought actually let’s spread it out. But this looks pretty downhill, Laura. Yeah, it looks a bit different than yesterday, don’t it? Click ride a minute. We got to go back out, I think. Let’s look what climbs we’ve got. That’s Oh, it won’t tell me at the minute, will it? Right. I think we’ve got two because I’m not on stop. What was it? Something ridiculous. Think I’ve already start there 100 ft in 42 miles. Oh, we’ve got a 59 ft climb, 102 ft climb, a 69 ft climb, 108 foot climb. Hallelujah. That’s fine. Right, I’ve got me almond class on tin. Let’s go. We are now going. But I did forget on the YouTube to do the part of the lyric was you’re going to see me ride the pace of a meal worm. Had to get that in. That’s for my sister Bethan. Meal worm. I know you’re watching at home for anyone wondering why I said that. I don’t know why me and my sister always shout meal worm at each other, but that’s a thing. Jacket meal worm. Yeah, I’ve got my jacket just in case. Probably won’t need it though. Woohoo. We just did such a nice descent. It was really, really, really nice. I got these nice little houses. I was struggling a little bit this morning, so it’s really nice to have Laura with me for a bit. That was so nice, wasn’t it? Like that one yesterday. Yeah, like where you didn’t really have to break much. Yeah, it was nice. UNESCO site. Yeah, I love the descents around here. Like things built on top of them cliffs over there. Look. Oh, yeah. Like a castle thing. Hey, I came near that this morning. Yeah. [Music] In shadow flowers. Sunflowers. Hey, not seen them in a while. They look a bit sad. a bit like me this morning on those hills. Right, I’m 98 and a half miles in. Got about 50 miles to go. Kyle’s here for a food stop. My time with Laura’s over now. Just gone for a we down there. She’s coming back and I’m just getting some apple juice down. I’m just I’m struggling today energy wise. It was nice having Laura with me for a bit. That helped. But I don’t know what it is. I don’t think it’s my body. I think it’s more my head. I said I think you’ve been hard. I think I said to you this morning, didn’t I? I said I think she’s been a bit negative myself this morning. There’s a bit of a face on it this morning. I think you’ll just get through it. I think I think these become a bit hard. There’s not as much to look at either. Let’s go. No, I said that that did feel like the schedule on there just looking at busier straighter roads. Very fieldy. Lot of lries stuff. We’ve done a lot of there’s not like necessarily something that breaks. I’ll be all right. Oh, I’m not going to obviously I just have to keep going. That’s what I can do. But let’s just get a monotonous snacks. Do you want to take I’m going to have my almond class on now. I’ve got some potatoes. Yeah, I have my potatoes. Yeah. Right to get some snacks now. Me and Crank on. Right, I’ve got 50 mi to go. I’m not feeling very good to be honest, but got to get on with it. So, going to keep going. I’m rolling again. I’m finding it hard to be positive today. I don’t know what’s got up with my head. And I think maybe because I know I’m near the end and I’m tired. My head’s just saying I’m ready to stop. But I know I’ve got it in me to keep going. So there’s no way that I’m stopping. I’m on a nice little cycle path now. So that’s nice to be away from the traffic. I think I’m just going to put my music on and just keep pedaling and remind myself why I’m doing this and what a privilege it is to be able to do this and that when I’m at home in August, I’ll be probably be wishing I was back doing it. So, I need to just try and enjoy it and not listen to the aches and just keep going. Oh, no. Sad sunflowers. I’m 16 miles on from where I left Kyle and Laura. I think the food’s kicked in. I’m feeling a lot more positive. So, yeah, I’m just trying to enjoy it. I’ve had my music on. I’ve been singing. There’s loads of other cyclists on this cycle path. So, that’s really nice. And yeah, just taking it in. Kind of reflecting on the past however long it’s been over 3 weeks. It’s all a bit of a blur at the minute, but I just can’t believe I’m near the end now. And yeah, I’ve just got to get there and enjoy it by the painful. I’m on another really nice cycle path now. The French are good at a good cycle path. Laura said to me this morning, she was like, “I bet when you started cycling, you didn’t think you’d be doing this, did you?” And I definitely didn’t. When I started, no, I just I started off going out with my dad. Kyle randomly bought me a little Carrera from Halford’s when I was really struggling when I was working as a mental health nurse. Had to leave my job in the end because I just wasn’t well. And yeah, without the bike, I don’t know where I’d be. and without Kyle and my family obviously, but me and my dad going on rides in the Peak District, going up 20% gradient hills, my dad with pas on with blooming tins of soup in his tanga and not getting home till it was dark and mom having a Sunday dinner cooked for us ready. That was how this all started. And yeah, it’s nice to think back to that and how far I’ve come with my cycling and doesn’t really feel real to be honest. But I’m just so grateful to be in a better place mentally because those bike rides at the start, they were sort of the only time when I felt a bit of relief from what was going on in my head. And I think that’s why I cycled so much and probably why I still do. So yeah, I’m just feeling grateful and reminding myself of why I started this and why I’m going to finish it. And yeah, I just want to give the message that no matter how hard things get, you’ve got to try and find the thing that keeps you going and and brings you joy. And for me, that’s cycling and being outside and spending time with my family and friends. And yeah, just don’t give up because things always get better again. So yeah. Oh, perked right up now. I’ve just been thinking about that stupid song I made up this morning. You’re going to see me ride at the base of me. Oh jeez. I think the bike’s making me go do li. But it’s little things like that like making up the songs that just get me through when it’s going slow. So, I’ve got two more days, two more songs to write. But at the minute, I’m just really enjoying this nice flat bit by the canal. It feels like I’m at home. There’s a canal near where we live and I take my dog Chester walking down there and I go running. So, it’s making me think about that. Not long till I’m home to Chesty Bow and I’ll be able to give him a big cuddle. Kyle’s just text me saying he’s going to ride out to me to finish off the day with me. So, that’ll be nice. He should be here soon. And then 27 will be ding dang done. Two more days to go. Hey, look at those big ball things in there. Are they? Oh, no. They’re not birds nest. Are they just the way the tree grows? I think two miles from the end and Kylie’s here. Ride. I know. You’ll have to ride more tomorrow. Busy. Too busy. When I go, I’m telling you, you’ll follow me. Let me go off and do some big rides. Yeah, you can do whatever you want. After this, the world is your oystic aisle. Well, that is day 27. Dingdong done. I’ve got me squad here. I’ve got Laura over here sat there. Don’t you can’t see her on the camera. You can’t wide angle. It’s a wide angle. Right. Anyway, what’s she trying to say about you, Laura? Wide angle. I’m wide. Ride stats from today. I did 143.55 miles, which is 231.02 km. I went up 6,414 ft, which is 1,955 m. So, to be honest, a pretty flat ride, but all the hills were at the start, and I felt them. Average speed 15.3 mph. My bum was in the saddle for 9 hours, 22 minutes, and 51 seconds, but finished at half 4 today, so practically still the morning. We’ve had loads of time to chill out, relax. Wow. I went through I went and I have anyway. I went through a little bit of a low moment halfway through today. Um but once I’ve gotten the cycle paths and things, I was fine and I managed to ger myself up. But we’ve just done the total mileage for the whole trip, haven’t we? So far, 3,751.91 miles, which is 6,037 km. Actually, 38 if you round it up. And I’ve gone up 71,051 m, which is quite a lot. And then we were looking how much the tour is. The pros ride 3,39 km. So, so far I’ve ridden 2,699 km more than the pros. So, don’t know what they’re playing around at, but no, I’m joking. The pros have it a lot harder than me because I would not. I’m going nice and slow. They’re probably racing around. Imagine trying to race up those clients. They’re racing around crashing attack. I don’t know how they do it honestly when they go fast at those climbs. No, no, no. We watched one yesterday, didn’t we? Was it one two one two? Yeah. 20 mph. One of those attacks was 20 mph at one two 9% gradient. Yeah, they’re made of different stuff. I don’t get how your body can go that fast of a climb like that. And I’d like to say Chappo to Ben Healey cuz I thought that was impressive. Yeah, that was good. I know he didn’t win, but he put a good effort in. Very impressive. But anyway, my my wrists are really hurting today. So, I’m going to have to put some put some tiger bomb on. Get an early night cuz we’ve got two 4:00 a.m. get ups in in a row. Now, Laura’s buzzing. Laura can’t wait. So, I’ll be dragging now. We’re dragging Laura out the We’re going to be singing No Rest for the Wiki. Wiki wiki wiki wiki wiki wiki. But yeah, tomorrow’s a long day. I think about 185 miles. And then the next we’ll round up to 300k. 186. No thanks, Kyle. One mile. Oh, I don’t know actually. It’s It might be 300. And then I’ve got the last stage which I think will be about 130ish. The painful thing is I’ve got to go past Paris to get to stage 21 and then back into Paris again. So tomorrow night we’re staying like we won’t the outskirts of Paris. We won’t what? We’re going into Paris and anyway two days left. We’ve raised including gift aid over £56,000 for the charity. So honestly, I can’t believe it. And just thank you so much everybody because that really helps me to keep going and the reason why I’m doing this. But anyway, sorry if you can see my little toes poking out here. You definitely master. We’ve got jacket buds for dinner made by Laura. And I’ve already started to develop tomorrow’s song. So there’ll be another song tomorrow. And that’s it. All I can say really just thank you so much for watching. TT the FM. Tata for now. Goodbye. Goodbye.

  1. Very normal feelings. The apotheosis, the climax of the adventure, were those mountain stages, those occupied your mind the whole time. Now it mentally feels 'over' and at the same time you need to drag yourself to Paris. Everyone would feel that way, maybe because of fatigue and you being so emotionally open it bubbles a bit more to the surface. I would be a grumpy grinch and just not say a word. We're all different, and the same.

  2. No wonder you are strugling.
I would struggle long before half what you have done!
But I think you just needed a bit more sleep and a lot more calories, and friendly support.
    You are so strong.

  3. Count our blessings it wasn't a Katy Perry "Firework" remix
Every cat within a 5 mile radius joining in !
    Great job Amy & Kyle
Bell's gone for the Final lap
    Fantastic achievement

  4. You said you were low on energy today. Most people would be on their chin strap. Your energy levels are out of this world. Pogacar has said on an interview that he is feel this tour and just wants to finish. So if the pro,s are feeling it, and they've only doing half the distance you've done. Just goes to show how much energy you have got.
    YOU CAN AND YOU WILL
WONDER WOMEN on 2 wheels, does it again.

  5. Oh the song definitely the start of that video 😂😂. Sorry for your struggling, I’m sure fatigue playing a big role (hell, the pros are getting tired by now!)

  6. I think the things in the trees would be Mistletoe and it will kill the trees if left. That aside another fab video, watched them all and so impressive what you have done. Looking forward to the last two. 👍
