  1. Looks like a pretty decent one, though I’d try and get them to 400/450 or so. But it looks like it’s in great nick. If you go see it and see any major issues with it, such as any play in the hinges, then I think 500 is a bit much. Though I do know they go for a bit more in general in mainland Europe.

  2. the components are pretty old and not in production anymore ie. crankset , but it is replaceable with the current spider crankset + JIS bottom bracket if it goes bust someday.

  3. Hey, I am Italian as well but I will answer in english so anyone can understand my reply.
Having searched for a Brompton in the last month in the Italian market (the whole territory, using Subito and FB Marketplace) I would say that it is very hard to find deals for under 600EUR regardless of age, conditions, colours, models etc…

    That being said:
    – I would consider if 3 gears are enough for Milan (I am in Rome and it wouldn’t, but I never cycled in Milan).
    – Also, I would check if there is any hinge play and the general conditions – especially the gear hub – which would be very expensive to replace. But, it is quite hard to spot because it can work even if broken, you just do not know when it will stop working. It can be even a veeery long time, mine is broken 🙂

Apart from that I am not an expert so I cannot give you any info on the specific year of production but I know even older models are very reliable, especially if you only plan to use it around the city.

For example, I was not rushing in buying a Brompton and I waited until I found a M6R (6 gears, rear rack and mudguards) from 2015, with accessories (as the big front bag) at 550 EUR. But, that was pure luck.

Let us know if you buy it!!!
