I am looking to buy my first Brompton. I will be using it to get around my apartment in Miami. I have a house in Palm Beach, and a car, but I will be spending half my time at an apartment in Miami, and since its urban/metro, I will be pedestrian and use my bike to explore. I will also use the bike to travel with. I travel a lot for work and I can just check the bike in a travel case and then be able to explore all the cities I travel to. Also when I go back and forth between palm beach and Miami I take the train, so I can take it on the train and while in Palm beach keep it in my trunk so I can always have a bike to explore.
I really like the color way of the 1975 Edition (I know some hate it, but I think it’s beautiful). I like that it has the Colorlab touch points as well, and is 12-speed. I am considering that or the bronze P-line 12-speed. I wish there was more really cool colors in P-line……the only thing I like on the 1975 edition more than the current p-line is the colorway.
Help me decide, I realize the C-line is heavier. I am a male, decent strength, and I would be using the advance rack on either bike, so I would only have to carry it for stairs and situations like that, I would mostly be rolling it. I realize P-line has a lot of lightweight components: grips, seat, titanium fork/triangle, etc. Are there other things to consider besides just the weight? I realize performance may be better on the P-line is that just because of weight or are the components contributing to that? Is it the same 12-speed system/components? I love lacquer paint, and wish the P-line had lacquer flame or some really cool paint. I wonder if they will be releasing any this month, anyone know? 1975 is $2750, P-line is $3450. 1975 includes Color Lab which is $200, plus lacquer paint which is worth a few hundred (to me), I realize there is still that price difference. On a monthly payment at 0% it’s negligible.
Help me figure this out, much appreciated.

If this is your first Brompton get the C line.
You’ll get an idea of what you like (and don’t) and whether it’s a good fit for your lifestyle only by using it.
P line is not a good choice for a first time buyer IMO
If money isn’t an issue, I’d suggest going for the P-Line 12-speed. A 6.6-pound difference is pretty serious. The P-Line also has more of a “gray man” vibe. It doesn’t draw much attention, so it’s less likely to get stolen
