I scrabbled around the Internet to see if anyone had installed larger cassette on their GRX 810 series. I managed to find a YT video of a guy who squeezed on a 40T XT cassette with the B tension screw at it's very end range.
Anyway, I wanted to see if I could squeeze on a larger cassette. Supposedly the 810 11 speed rear derailleur maximum limit is with the 11-34T cassette. .So using a Wolftooth Roadlink mounted onto derailleur hanger, I have got a Shimano M8000 11-46T cassette on successfully. I have been running this set up with the 2x 48/31T for about 2000km now with no issues
I hope this helps someone who might be looking for a similar solution

Nice! I have 2×11 speed mechanical grx (810 rear derailleur), running a 11×40 rear cassette from Jenson USA (Shimano XT CS-M8000).
It took some serious fiddling (I’m kind of a noob), esp with B limit screw, but it works great. I feel like I could climb up a wall with the 31 front 40 rear combo. Can’t imagine the 31×46 combo!
That is such a low gear, 31-46. The ratio is .67.
Are you using that gear? Do you actually *need* it? I’m in the San Francisco Bay Area, we have serious hills. I was pretty OK riding around with my lowest gears being .85-.9.
Is this low range necessary?
I love it when people try to fiddle aound with stuff to create their own perfect setup, kudos!
My question would be, do you ever actually use 31-46? It sounds like a ridiculously small gear lol
