  1. Get the leaves and grass clippings out of the bike lane, protect the bike lane, make the bike lane wide enough not to ride on the curb seam, and connect the bike lanes to my destination, and I won’t have any reason to be in the middle of the road.

Until then, I’m doing what keeps me safest. Don’t like it? Tell your city council member to improve the bike infrastructure.

  2. Yeah those invisible, non-existent bike lanes. I haven’t had this one shared with me, but I’ve had people at work ask me if I’m one of those people that rides in the road. Ummm, there are no bike lanes in my town so I’m not sure where else I’m supposed to ride. Hell many roads don’t have sidewalks. I live in the southeast US in case anyone was wondering where to live in order to enjoy zero cycling lanes/infrastructure. Tons of brodozers though!

  3. Got yelled at to use the bike lane once.

The car lane was empty, I had signalled, and was going around the car that had yelled at me, since they were parked in the bike lane with their ”I can park anywhere” lights

  4. That same spandex guy is also the guy claiming to be a “serious cyclist” and fighting separated bike facilities because he doesn’t want them.

  5. istartedpanicking on

I commute to work about 10 miles round trip mostly in bike lanes. I’ve had more bad experiences with the spandex road bikers than cars.

  6. I have had a lot of high school associates (and even one of my best friends from college) share this type of anti-cyclist meme a few times in the last few years, and I was like wth? Similarly, we also don’t have any sort of strong cycling infrastructure or culture from where we’re from so idk why they feel so negatively about it.
