Getting into cycling. Really wanted a gravel bike but it is hard to find anything used in my area so expanded to more road bikes. This is in my area listed at $300. Frame is from 2008 and seller claims everything is updated to 2016 or newer. It also comes with a trainer but I am not too interested in that so not worth potentially paying more. Is $300 a good price and does this bike seem good?

That looks like a great first bike. If you’re like me, you will make a lot of mistakes and learn a ton on your first bike so it isn’t worth breaking the bank. Once you ride for a while you’ll know what’s most important to you and can buy a more expensive bike that fits what you want.
You don’t know how well it has been maintained so I would take it to a trustworthy shop in your area and make sure it’s tuned up and ready to ride.
