NEW BIKE DAY IS THE BEST KIND OF DAY – NEW FREERIDE MTB FIRST RIDE!

I build up a new Canyon Torque AL freeride bike with some classic bike maintenance skills before riding it as hard as possible for the first time, new bike day is the best kinda day!!

I head to the amazing trails at Twisted Oaks bikepark to test out my new freeride bike that has been set up for TRICKS! This Canyon Torque AL is 170mm of travel and ready to take on the biggest jumps in Mexico because that’s where i’m heading next for the Freeride Fiesta event! hello everyone today is going to be epic because I just picked up a brand new Canyon from the factory and it’s going to be W the best who W that was a bit of a slam let’s see what bike we’ve got then this is a brand new Canyon por a look at this beauty first thing we’re going to do for this modification is get rid of this back wheel I ride for Halo and I’ve ridden their products now for about well almost 20 years it’s insane so I need to have them on my bike here we go wheel off also before we put the new wheels on we’re going to be going single speed on this machine so we don’t need the deria there we go gears are off so for the wheels we’ve got a set of Halo gravitas wheels these are epic super nice sound going on there oh yes for tires I’m going to run a super lightweight Goodyear to give it a test this is a peak Tire I don’t ride for Goodyear anymore but I’ve got a few left laying around so let’s magic it on oh yes look at that and discs on next up we’ve got this Halo conversion kit what you do is you just throw these spaces on put that back on do it all right now we can go ahead and put the Halo grab aass on the rear here stick that through you then get one of these things and it basically just tensions your chain boom and then you can adjust the positioning of the chain once it’s on so we’ll put a chain on now right we don’t need the dropper so we’re going to actually pull all that out as well so this bike has a mullet set up that means it’s got a 29 front 27.5 rear which is super sick for bike park downhill going fast but I’m going to a jump event with this bike so I want to put a 27.5 wheel on the front cuz it’s easier for bar spins and Spins and things so I actually found another thing from reverse online this is an angle spacer so it lifts the front fork slightly in your frame which will compensate for me having a slightly smaller front wheel on there we’re going to try it out bit of FF later we’ve got that special spacer thing on there throw that on yeah nice it just lifted the forks slightly right next up we’re going to put the front wheel on the Halo gravitas in 27.5 so we’re going to strip all this stuff away we got some rock shock nebs on there wa look that wheel had been magicked without us even noticing and it’s got oh my God it’s like stuck itself in disc on as well so I thought I’d actually put on some some higher rise bars cuz for jumps and stuff you just want to be in a more stood up position that’s what I like so I’ve got some 50 mil rise here on these gusset bars should be pretty good we got a nice little gusset stem as well right we now going to put the brakes and stuff on to that handlebar we now need some pill grips these are actually all available now in all the mixed colors these are mixed white and black oh it’s just incredible on there isn’t it now time for an uron smurro Pro titanium saddle whip that on finishing touches a little motol sticker here on the back triangle bike’s now ready for shreddy so let’s go and give it his first test ride it’s the next morning before we test the bike we got to make a stomped coffee if the Energy’s w [Music] Link in description get some now is amazing let’s go and test that new bike then we’ve come straight to Twisted Oaks bike park and we’re going to start off with the first rides in this brand new bike in the fairground this is three new trails here we’ll get a bit warm then we’ll go and do some big tricks on the slope line come on get [Music] get oh [Music] [Music] w wow that so sick first lap this beauty is feeling amazing brand new bikes have it such a good feeling I actually really like this lightweight Tire on the rear hopefully that holds up to the huge jumps in Mexico but that’s the dream we’re just trying to tweak the suspension each lap just to get it stiff the last ones are fox and these are rock shock so it’s a bit different but feeling epic let’s blast another one before we head over there all right let’s get a little line over here oh that’s so dreamed [Music] sick let’s go and SES the slope line we’re now over on the slope line I’m going to REM mulch this Landing up cuz what’s sick is this is all open to the public now like if you look look that way if you haven’t seen it which you probably have there’s a full slope line here at Twisted Oaks and Everyone likes to session the bottom two jumps in a row into this mulchy so we just got to re push the mulch up cuz it’s all been pushed down and then go hammer time on the new bike here we go then we’re just going to session these first two features ah so cool wow oh nice big old three woo spins easy I got that light Tire on and I put one of them plastic inner tubes in which weighs 49 Gams this thing spins like a jump bike now crazy so sick let’s get a three tabes on it see how that goes wow Taves like a jump bike let’s get a little sles on that like nice [Music] and going to do a trick I sort of forgot about flip bar spins so cool go up the lip pull back slightly look at the bars bar then continue to flip afterwards easy yeah that felt well good I love that you’re just looking at your bike way upside down it’s such a weird feeling cuz they’re spinning but so is your whole world bangers let’s get a tail with with this new light set up oh crank flip oh that was scary kicked it weird let’s do another one that that felt good even though it went wrong nice that feels incred just a big bike spinning around under you after riding the jump bike a lot in the last video switching between them two for Te whips is quite weird on the brain but yeah that was well nice I’m going to get another one just to hammer it home yeah they feel so nice tail whips on this what sick set up sick Bro only get a three tuck now they always feel nice from this sort of position here you should be like lying about the size of the jump a bit with the fishe oh no that was a nice tuck I actually under rotated they T the three a little bit it felt well nice like to land and turn the bars in a bit to preempt for the landing right let’s get a fronty on the go like I said it’s running fast now so I’m going to break a little bit coming into it and then oh wow that was almost a die that was horrible that was well slow ow my back I landed sitting on the tire nice that’s literally the main thing you have to do in biking get back up straight away that was terrifying that first almost crash if i’ have nosed I mean luckily there’s mulch but that would send you hard into the floor for like that so you got to do it again I still a little bit under rowy but like I said I’m feeling a bit odd with the speed on there I don’t want to over rotate frontwards that’s the worst so yeah stoked on that I’m going to do another one just to lock that one in as well ah see far and slightly over oh that’s annoying the mulch has got some pretty deep ruts in it so I’m going to blame that and then I’ll I’ll do it again now once I’ve got rid of these huge holes everywhere that’ll learn it that was nice and stomped weren it bit further or down the landing but that was well good feels cool just flying it’s actually quite a nuts feeling leaning forward off a lip yeah so far abs abolutely loving this the colors sick how it rides just that brand new feeling it’s such a beast so thank you very much Canyon what we want to do now is get a nice backflip no foot can we’re just going to run it straight slowmo classical music [Music] Banger poor brand new bik got slammed that fronty the headset came loose from the impact and now that that literally landed in the worst place it could have poor thing back up we go [Music] then there you go crash get back up do it again flip no it can that feels well cool this section here has dried up quite a lot now so you can use it for what I wanted it for as you can see my tire marks on there it’s still a little bit soft but you can actually ride it and hit the last so we’re going to go big boost there get like bow riding on this I’ll do some dump threes on that one here we go boom here we go a we’ve come over now to the top of the course so we got the wall ride to quarterpipe this is such a fun section to session and isn’t it sick January t-shirt weather already already already and it’s quarter to 4 it’s still not dark the summer is approaching fast let’s do a few airs on that quarter it’s just unreal actually this bike this day it’s like it’s literally Christmas just all over again I’m loving life oh yeah arage get another one on the go then love that woly oh yes tesing late I just had a thought when I was up there with that front nozza let’s see that again quick oh inbound wow that’s good proper do you think that that will slow my work still in this [Music] Darkness what an epic sesh that was on the first ride of this beauty few slams that’s good to have some slams every now and again this bike got yeah hit hard but it’s perfect still no scratches I have to say it’s probably my fa favorite bike that I’ve had I love the color on that it’s like this off white like creaminess it’s yeah very very dreams looking so thank you very much to Canyon like I said I’m going to Mexico for the Free Ride Fiesta this
