What’s better than coffee in the morning? A 50-kilometer bike ride from San Fernando to Clark and back! ☕🚴‍♂️ Okay, maybe coffee and the ride.

This wasn’t an ultra-marathon, Tour de France, or some death-defying sufferfest. Nope. Just an easy, fun ride where the kilometers felt more like a good excuse to eat extra carbs later. (Cyclist logic: ride 50 km = deserve 5000 calories.)

Highlights:

🚴 Smooth roads, Pampanga style

🌤 A “chill” 50 km (that’s like Netflix-and-chill, but with sweat)

😂 Me convincing myself that “50 km is not much” while my legs and my tummy disagreed

So whether you’re a Filipino biker wondering, “San Fernando to Clark lang ba ‘yan?”, or a Western rider thinking, “Wait…what’s Clark?”—this vlog’s got something for you.

Thanks for tuning in today I’m going for a 50 kilometer bike ride wherever that would take us It’s 8:30 in the morning and basically what I want to do now is just to ride wherever my leg can take me…you know. I gotta be home at around 11 in the morning so it’s 8 in the morning it’s 8:30 actually so let’s see where my legs can take me today I’m also preparing for a long ride this weekend, which I know you guys are excited about as I am. Watch out for that. Although I’m not a fan of branding whatsoever but um that ride is going to be a proper century ride. It’s going to be at least 100 km long so watch out for it! We’re about 10 km away and I don’t know but I’m just guessing it could be about 38 degrees under the sun. But that’s okay. It’s all part of the fun, right? It’s all part of the good times. It comes with it. And besides, I wanted to get a tan anyway so that’s okay. One thing you got to remember whenever you’re riding in these temperatures: Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate! Drink as much liquid as you can even if you’re not thirsty yet you know because by the time when by the time you get thirsty, that’s going to be too late. Right? Whenever you’re thirsty, your body is telling you to get in more water for it to process. And that’s too late by that time. So before you get thirsty, Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate! Even if you’re not sweating Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate! Stoplight drink, all right? Stoplight drink. Remember that. Remember that, guys. Bike! Bike! Bike! Bike! Bike! Bike! I’m on your right I’m on your right Good morning Hello doggy! They say that bike riding is not about the destination. It’s about the Burger King along the way. We didn’t stop at Burger King. It’s too early. Too early for snacks and all that. But anyway, we’ve been biking for an hour and right now we’re at Telebastagan approaching the Angeles City border. I did the math right and we have to be at home by 11 in the morning and we left by uh 8 30 the morning. So in other words, we gotta be on our way home at about at about 9 30. One thing that I like most about Angeles City is their bike lanes. This is Angeles University Foundation. It’s actually one of the top 10 universities here in the Philippines when it comes to academic excellence. So in other words, that’s a good school. Angles University Foundation. It’s Christmas already here. Look at that. Must be beautiful at night huh with all the lights and all that. We’re at Clark. Nice bike lanes, huh? For those who don’t know, Clark used to be an American Air Force base. It’s one of the largest outside the U.S. and vital during the Vietnam War. What we’re gonna do is we’re gonna do a loop here. We entered by the main gate, right? So, we’re gonna continue uphill and exit through Friendship Gate on our way home. It’s 9:30 anyway, so I guess it’s time to go home. Ooh Jollybee! Like my brain is screaming like you got 25 more. kilometers to go… Only 25 kilometers! My tummy however is saying like it’s saying Jollibee is nearer. Why go 25 kilometers. But we’re gonna ignore my tummy! We’ve got enough reserves. More than enough reserves It must be about 40 degrees under the sun We’re going to do a five minute water break here in the shade. Five minutes, maybe even less. I don’t know. We need water. Oh, there’s a bigger shade there. So let’s go there. Bigger tree, bigger shade. I’m still on my five minute break. What I like about Clark is, what do you call that, a bike lane? And another thing is, how cool is this? There’s a bike repair station. See? How cool is that? We got tools here, see? At least you have tools, right? Obviously you have a moun here. Go bike ready. Anyway, we gotta go. Five minutes is five minutes. Our five minutes is up, so we gotta go. Bike! Bike! Magandang umaga!Good morning! We’re about to leave Clark. We’re 25 kilometers approximately away from home. I’m looking for a good place to eat. I’m in Friendship Highway, by the way, in Angeles City I don’t even know what I want to eat. Do I want pizza? No. Do I want crabs? No. I don’t know. I’m a fan of vegetables. So I don’t know if… I don’t know if I can look for a good restaurant here that serves vegetables I’m not sure I think I’m going to end up at McDonald’s now I’m looking for a neighborhood Turo-Turo. They call it point-point but which I know is corny but neighborhood Turo Turo would have vegetables Alright They would have Pinakbet or they would have Laing. They’d have vegetables and I’d like that. Provided that they’re clean and the thing is you know well ventilated. I ended up getting a hamburger here so I’m just gonna grab something to eat and I’ll talk to you later. That was a lot of protein! Anyway, let’s go home. I’m just taking it easy just after eating. I only have two speeds, anyway. I have slower and slower. Let’s climb that! Let’s go for it! It shouldn’t be much of a climb anyway. We’re now leaving Angeles City and entering San Fernando. We’re about 18 kilometers out. I have a knock-knock joke for you guys. Knock knock Who’s there? That was a good one! We’re about 10 kilometers away but it’s still early actually so I’m taking it real easy. We’re back in our kickoff point. We had a total of 50.97 kilometers and our travel time was two hours and 17 minutes so I’m about 13 minutes early I had a good time guys I mean this ride was uneventful but I enjoyed it nonetheless so if you enjoyed this video give it a thumbs up and for those who haven’t subscribed to yet, go ahead and subscribe. And just remember: it’s not about the miles. It’s about the smiles. Thanks for tuning in and I’ll see you on my next climbravana ride.
