  1. TBF that lock looks just as effective there as it is through the main triangle. A decent pair of scissors would cut that.

  2. Good enough to stop somebody from just grabbing it and riding off, which is fine.

    In my youth I knew people who would just steal an unlocked bike from the train station and then return it the next time they took a train. So in effect those were (involuntary) bike share bikes. Not unlikely that some people actually got rid of their old bikes by leaving them unlocked at the station.

  3. It’s not quick-release, so is nearly as secure as the triangle. Not sure anyone will go to great lengths to steal that bike.
