  1. Make sure you do a test run on a smaller component if your clear coat doesn’t specifically say it’s compatible with your paint, or else u/camnesiac will have suffered in vain

Prep is the most important part of painting a bicycle. Also, a quality clear coat is important.

  3. You might want to mask the whole steerer of the fork, otherwise it can be hard to fit and knock down the bottom part of the headset

  4. Keep up the patient work and you should be happy with the result. I have painted a handful over the years. It can be quite rewarding. 2k clear in a rattle can (two part paint) has been a game changer. Just make sure you wear a proper respirator!

Most importantly don’t be upset when you scratch it 😁 the best bikes are to be used.

Built this one for my girlfriend last year. She has been putting tons of miles on it. I swapped it over to 650b for stand over and tire volume so ignore the fender fit 😆

i used to paint cars in a garage like that, a little tip i have for you is to water the floor with a hose or something, that way when youre walking around painting you wont kick up dust and debris that could get in the paint
