My colleague nudged me into the retro MTBs again with this GT from marketplace (last pic for reference). Since I had gotten rid of my parts bin years ago, all parts are new or secondhand. I only kept the wheels, derailleur and cassette. A 1×7 works just fine living in a rather flat city. Some parts to highlight: Ergotec Moon Cruiser bars, Wald 139 basket, Curana C-lite fenders. Functional and chill build.

Very good build!
I agree on the 1×7. I run a similar setup around town, and it feels like a single speed with a bit of extra help for the few hills I encounter.
