Look, I mean this in the kindest way possible but 2012 was 13 years ago. This whole post seems off, like if I overheard an interaction that this post relates to in real life I’d think both sides of the interaction are annoying and have a weird take on things.
Just ride ya bike, anything beyond that and enjoying doing that with other people who also enjoy riding their bikes is arbitrary.
I did mess work in New Orleans for a winter. Does that count? Surprisingly, it was not food.
There are no fixy bike couriers in N.Z as far as I know, so that eliminates a chunk of this group. Most people I know with fixed gear bikes, mostly just want a bike that doesn’t fail them, myself included.
