My grips keep tearing this pair is only like 3 weeks old. I don't have throttle grip but my grips slowly move backwards as I'm riding and eventually tear. This is the second pair that it happened to. I'm about to super glue my grips on. Any other suggestions because removing them will become a nightmare with glue.

New grips 🤯
ODI Longnecks are your solution.
I’m using the cult AK it’s amazing
Get some ODI and don’t stretch them across your handle bars, it looks like those are stretched then so they rip easily
I had some odyssey grips. One tore but it was because of me moving it while I was riding, the other still feels new. Don’t stretch ur grips or mess with them unless you wanna buy more I guess
Get ODI grips they work well for me
It’s not as such a specific grip problem, and odi can suffer as well from it, many stretch their grips longer and that starts the tear which will eventually end up like yours have done. Get longer grips if that’s how you like to run them, use a fixative to fit them and hold them in place
I’ve got the cult waffle grips, best thing I’ve put on my bike
Happens to every grip eventually. Buy some new jawns
ODI is the only answer
Duck tape is an amazing creation
Hmm weird… How do you out them on? I found if I do hairspray, soapy water, or anything else that a bit of residue or moisture can stay in there even I try to squeeze it all out.
I’ve been doing the zip-tie trick, and it works really good; i.e. Line the inside of the grips with some long zip ties, slip the over the bars, the pull them out one-by-one. Clean the bars and inside of grips with isopropyl first too, and make sire no dust settles. Works really well!
I never have problems with odyssey
If you have access to a compressor, use it to “fix” your grips every couple of sessions (reorient them so they aren’t twisted and stretched). They will last a long longer. Most people do not bother with this, but I do lol.
Get new ones? I like those. They loook crazy. Performance wise I have no clue
Second pair of the same grip, same colourway? If so I bet it’s the colour additive screwing up the strength of the compound. Black grips don’t have that issue.
Anything but longnecks is the answer
It’s bc you have cotton candy colored grips bro.
But for real, fit tech grips are my absolute go to. Designed by chase d, and when he left fit cult asked to buy the rights which Moeller declined bc he runs them lol
Don’t stretch out your grips. The more you stretch them the thinner they are. If they’re paper thin, they’re going to rip. Yours look stretched and twisted to shit.
That seems like an unnatural way to tear. I feel like however this is happening is going to happen to any grip. Are you hanging this from the grips to store? Are you yeeting it off parking garages? Maybe pick at it during sessions? The rest of the grip is mint.
Remove them should be easy just slice off with a razor blade. If you ever want to take off grips without destroying them though you can always stick a screwdriver down the end and squirt water with a spray bottle on both sides and they slide right off
You’re gripping the bars too tightly. /s
mushroom like grips are really fragile I hate them. I’ve switched to stronger ones, my fav being cinema interlace, only 150mm length but they last 3 months at least. consider grips like tubes, you need lots of spares in your stock.
I have the animal delarosa and they are holding up pretty well.
Dip your bars in wet cement and allow to dry for at least 24h.
Bmx industry like every industry turning to shit and making things last a tenth as long as they could… if only it made them just as much money <3
I have this anxiety thing that makes me peel my grips before I try a trick. The best grips that have held up for me are odi and Edwin Delarosa grips
Cult x Vans grips are insanely durable and really hard to rip. ODI soft longnecks are my preferred grip because while a little less durable, way more comfortable.
Anything made by ODI, all S&M grips are made at ODI I believe. I have a 4 bikes with credence grips and one with hoders.
Put them on dead straight using rubbing alcahol and leave them over night.Fixed
Don’t bite into them 😂
Reverse the grips
Lock-on grips will make your life easier, all you need is an Allen key and some assembly paste and it will last a lot longer than those slip on ones.
