Hey guys, welcome to IRA channel. My name is Ole and today I will review this newest Don D9 model. It’s one of the newest bicycle from Don. Now it’s the second bike I review from Don and this bike actually amazing. Not only because it looks amazing, but the price currently if you use my discount will be only like $14.99. you. I have $200 off the code available in description. So, first I want to show you how will look on this bike. So, this bike it’s uh emopet style. Um it’s not only looking cool, but actually it’s pretty solid bike as well. And I’m going to go with you basically on everything what is included. And we’re going to go for a ride to see how far this bike can go as well. So this one is um uh the handlebar is like 30 42 in from the ground with some riser. You can a little bit move up if you want to. The rear seat it’s 33 the low part. The highest part is like 35 in. Basically it is two seaters. So the seat is pretty long. They include the pecs you can attach on the back if you want to. I did not attach them, but that’s the size of the bike. So, I’m 5’11 feet tall and you can see how I will sit on it. The pedaling probably will be not the best at all. As you can see how the feet going up very high. It’s easy way to fix it and unexpensive to change the uh crank arms to shorter size and that way will be uh much better pedaling. Again, most people will not buy this bike for pedaling because this bike is so powerful. You probably can go any hill without even pedaling. So, here’s how the front fork works. It’s very nice. And the rear shock. Yes, I’ll get to you more about the shocks as well. And let’s get over all the details on this bike because it’s not only looking cool, but actually it’s loaded with good parts which will give you good performance. So the fork, it’s inverted fork on this bike. It’s a aluminum fork as well. And I don’t see any brand other than um I actually put the stickers by myself. It’s this is the guards. They will include everything already probably pre-installed for you. So, you don’t have to put stickers. But the one I have, it’s like more prototype stickers was and they want me to put different one. The one you’re going to receive, but I decide to leave it as is because I like the color. Same thing with a kind of plate over here. You probably have a different one as well. So, it does come with a pretty large tires which is 20 in by 5 in wide by Nova. They are like puncture resistant but again they’re so wide. You can see the guard need a little bit some more space. So, it is pretty wide tires uh city tires but more like off-road I would say as well. And um uh rims on this have like very nice like um kind of not ventilation. This one is actually to reduce the weight of the tire. So they’re pretty light. Uh this tires as well, it’s should be a little bit more heavy because more rubber on them. But again, all this can be will make it a little bit light as well. It does come with a front fenders more like just for loop probably. And uh pretty large battery. The battery is 52 volt 25 amp. So you’re going to get good distance. Also it come with a kind of long and short uh sec chain ring which will not get you very good pedaling. You may get ghost pedaling after like 15 to 20 m an hour. We’re going to test out later. It come with a Shimano touring derailer, seven Shimano speed casset on the back and huge motor which is 1500 continuous power by MXUS. So, Maxus and um peak power it’s over 2,000. It does have um pretty good controller actually uh 40 amp controller located right here in the box. And um the shocks on the back is by DNM burner RCP 25. Actually, it have pre uh rebound adjustment also preload adjustment over here. And you could probably can even tighten the spring if you need uh much firmer. It does have like about an inch inch and a half travel. So, it says here the spring is 550 lbs. So, again, this shocks on the rear and the front fork works amazing. It feels like you’re on the couch. Very soft going over the bump. So, it’s like pretty much set up for off-road riding and it is looking like a dirt bike. basically the same shock used on the surround type of bicycle like more expensive and it is premium shock. Uh the fork is aluminum does not have any adjustment soever but so far I did not get any bottom out. I went over the curves and stuff. It’s pretty good travel about looks like over 120 mm travel can go easily up to here. So again uh it does not have any adjustment but it works just fine. It does come with kind of dirt bike uh headlight on the front and then this bike comes also with tail light and turn signals on the back. So you you are like fully loaded. This bike is fully loaded with the turn signals, brake light even you can attach the plates if you want to. Okay. And this enough space. A lot of people like to do wheelies and jumps. There’s enough space between. So this is good travel. The brakes on this bike is by Simeers. He threw oil over here. You can see if there’s oil inside as well. Pretty nice grips. And it’s only 180 mm. It’s two piston braking system on the front and rear. So that’s something we’re going to test out how good the braking is. Pretty much from my experience, uh, this bike is going pretty fast. So, these brakes are maybe okay, but I would love to see more upgraded brakes, usually four piston and more solid one. This one is not bad at all, actually, for this price range. But you can always upgrade to more premium and still have some money saved in your pocket. So, let’s get closer to handlebar and see how actually the bike works. So, basically, you need to turn on the battery on switch. So the battery can be charged on the bike or off the bike. Easy to remove. Over here is a charging port and switch on and off. On another side is a key where you can remove the battery. And over here is a meter where you can check to see how battery is charged. Currently the battery is charged to 58.5 amp. Uh it can go actually above. So it’s very nice battery as well. And as you can see is the handlebar is pretty wide. It’s 30 in wide. Very wide handlebar. And let’s start from the right. So on this side you’re going to find a key ignition. So basically in order to start you need to turn on the key. Once you turn the key then you push the power button. Without key the bike will not start and I forgot because I I got this bike a while ago but I didn’t have time to review it and I couldn’t start it and I realized I need to get the key from the box. So that’s really good safety feature like no I mean security feature nobody can ride the bike without key and I think a lot of people ask so this bike come with a security and safety turn signals which is very good easy to use on the left side it will be turn signals right here okay switch left to right and this one is a cord pretty loud this is headlight on and off switch pedal assist plus and minus so it’s switching between plus and minus. So you can go up to 5 pedis levels. The display it’s pretty bright. I’m right under the sun. But let me get on in the shade so it will be better for you to see with me. Even with polarized glasses, I can see very clear display. It’s very large. The same display used on the Don R uh Rio. So they use exactly the same display which is great. So let’s get to shade so you can see more. So you can see even turn signals working fine in the shade you can see very clear. So let’s get closer to display so you can see how it works. So display it’s very bright even under the sun but usually on the phone it’s very hard to record the display. So on the left hand side you’re going to see what power how much peak power you will produce a mileage also pedal assist levels when you switch and I like to keep it zero. So at zero the throttle will not work. Also the pedals assist will not work. That’s a safety feature. If you push on the power button one more time, it will switch a little bit different uh kind of design. Uh you’re going to see a mileage on the left side and voltage on the right side, a diameter on the bottom, the battery percentage on the bottom, trip and temperature. I believe this temperature for controller I will need to check with the company to see right there you can see the temperature mostly it’s controller and the time on the top how long it’s was to go back you just push power button once it’ll go back to the original like so it’s easy to switch this bike have options uh just to right now it’s unlimited it’s uh when you I believe when it arrives it’s arrived as unlimited speed but it’s easy to switch you just push power on minus together at the same time. You hold it and then you’re going to go to settings right here. It give you all the information by pushing minus or plus. You can change metric and speed. When you select plus, it will highlight the speed and then you can increase it or even decrease it. So, I’m going to select to the let’s see how fast I can go. 52 53 it says here, but let’s set it up to highest. Uh, looks like the 60 would be the highest limit. So, I set up to 60 now. And to save it, you just push plus and minus at the same time and it will go back and it’s saved. Now, to turn it off, it’s in. You just push the power button and will be off. So, it’s very easy to use. It does come with a full throttle, very nice grips, and the handlebar is pretty long. So, there will be enough space to attach the mirror, phone holders, everything. But I usually don’t attach while I’m recording the video because um the mirror might be on my way to attach um other devices. I just want to show you what is included in the box. So, it does include the chain. Pretty solid. Okay. uh the multi-tools packs for rear seater, the glasses because actually when you’re riding fast, you want to wear glasses. Looks like they’re a little bit um uh tinted. Maybe they’re I’m not sure if it’s polarized, but just nice glasses. Also, for safety riding, they include even the helmet. Let me show you like this. Okay, pretty cool. It’s already included, right? So, why not also include the like this um back so you attach to the front if you want to. Um you can put the phone. So, that’s cool. Also, the mirror. They did include some mirror which I didn’t attach as well. Uh I will not attach because I need space. But again, it’s a good to have it. And looks like they attach to the handlebar easy. And the tools. Uh tools pretty basic, I guess. And the charger, the charger is 3 amp charger. So it will takes you about uh probably 8 hours to charge from zero to full 52 volt and it can be charged up to 58.8 volt. So and it does come with a fan so it will not get overheated. Also your sticker might be a little bit different because mine is was like one version first. So you’re going to probably receive like this stickers on. Okay. Uh, I supposed to attach them, but actually I like this one for some reason. It’s kind of better match, but you’re going to have a little bit different stickers probably already pre-attached. But everything else should be exactly the same. And the Don comes with a cotton sensor. So, it means when you pedal the pedals slowly, it will still go to the top speed whatever set with a pedal assist level. And it come with a uh like braking system which similar to mud cycle. Uh so on the right hand side will be front braking on the left hand side will be rear braking. So something to remember and learn before you start to ride. So again try not to break with the front wheel quickly because a lot of people usually fall on the faster bicycle. This bike can go over 35 miles an hour. That’s what I would assume. And it should be very powerful. Not only by looking on this motor it’s a huge motor, very large motor. It’s much more than many other hub motors I reviewed. And it’s um huge. I like everything about this bike, but I want to show you also what I don’t like. So, let me turn off the turn signals. So, the seat, it’s comfortable, looking great. That’s what I like actually. And design is great. The what I don’t like the pedals will hit your kickstand because it’s right in the middle. I know for most people have no problem because actually will blocked if you will going reverse and some people actually like this way but when I move bicycle around I usually go backwards you will kick the kickstand. Easy fix. you just kick uh bring the kickstand up while you’re moving and then you’ll have no issue. But that’s something I don’t like personally. But again, that’s something I want to mention. Other than that, this bike looks amazing. All right, guys. Now you know basically everything about this bike. So, let’s go for a ride and see how this bicycle actually perform. Going to test out for speed and also hill climb. So, we know how much power it does have because looks like it does have a lot of power for a single motor with 52 volt system. So, I’m going to stop here and test it out. Uh, I’m going to use GPS to compare the speed to see if it’s uh any difference. Um, over here will be what peak and this one going to be the speed. And I’m gonna do short test and let’s see. Let’s go. Wow. I see it’s 2169 peak power. So far it was already 20 25 on GPS. 30 32 36 Wait 35 and break. I’m going to try it slowly. So, I got easy like 36, but it was actually 35, I would say. Uh, pretty fast. Um, on display was numbers kind of not accurate. It was like 32, 33. So, it might go even faster. I’m going to test out on the longer street as well. Over here, we’re going to test out the pedal assist. So, I’m going to I’m on the gear number seven now. Going to go to pedal assist five and start to pedal. So, go pedaling after like 10 miles an hour. So, let’s see how fast 3234 I’m going to stop. It does going very fast. And uh when you start to pedal basically I don’t want to lose balance but again I can go like up to 35 easily. But now let’s switch to pedal system one and try to pedal the bike. to see how fast I’ll go when I sit the lower back. Actually five actually going about 9 10 11 14 16 17 18 Hold on a second. I think this bike going by POW. So basically, let me test out first. So I’m going to use pedal assist level one and throttle only to see what the top speed. Actually only 50 mph based on the uh display H. So but it it is going like over too fast. So there’s no point for me to try to test for pedal assist level because it is not really going to be good pedaling with a power. Let’s see one more time over here with throttle only. We’ll go like let’s see how fast one about 40 miles an hour 16. Yeah 15 16 miles an hour. Okay. and display was like 15. So you can get that and I’m going to turn off completely now and I will try to pedal it. I’m going to go gear number four and basically just pedal again. The feet going all the way up. It’s not really the best going to be to pedal, but it’s it is pedable. So I mean you can pedal if you run out of power and you can go gear three. So you’re going to get about 9 miles an hour with pedaling this bike. Again, you can pedal uh you can sit all the way back actually. It’s a lot of room on the back. Wow. And then I will be better pedaling most likely. But yeah, it’s uh this very low resistance. So there’s no really problem to pedal the bike versus some other fat tire bicycle. So it does have like good tires. So it give you a low resistance as a city tires. The grips very good. But now we’re going to go on the longer road to test it out for more speed and heel. Okay, let’s try here now. 27. 33. 46. So the maximum I saw 36 but very solid 35 I would say and um on display was like 32. So again, if you’re lighter person, you’re going to get better distance. Um like me, 250 lbs, get 36 the maximum, but 35 would be solid. For some reason, I see battery drainage 54% which is not really normal for this short distance, but it says 57 volt. So the percentage might might be not that accurate. Usually I go by voltage. Sometimes when you do restart it, it might go back. So, let’s turn off and restart it because when you restart, it’ll go back to 81%. So, okay. So, it’s basically BMS. So, it’s 81% now. Let’s go for hill test and see how good it’s in a uphill. The brakes works great. Just need to be more gentle on the brakes, but they’re breaking very good even at high speed. Uh I don’t get like um uh sliding anything. It just grab the road very good. So the tires everything good. I do have like PSI put I believe all to the tops maximum. I believe like 20 PSI I put in this tires currently. So it’s a bit more rough. If you want more gentle ride, you may reduce to 20. Uh about the throttle, uh it’s very responsive. So when you going in a pel 5 it will go to the top speed. So if you push just a little bit there’s so much torque. So you better hold the handles because you can fall from the bike as powerful. It’s a good and bad. The good is good for people who is experienced, bad uh for people who is not experienced because a lot of people want this in most bicycle. But recently I saw some post somebody bought um go bike and they was not happy because the god bike too powerful and they say they almost fall because it’s pulling so strong. to this bike probably like it is very powerful. So it will kick you off from the seat if you pull quickly and if you’re not holding the handles it has a lot of power. All right. So I’m by the hill going to go to test the power and I’m on pedal assist level five. the speed uh the percentage drop again to 57% but it says 57.1 volt on the display as well. So again it’s kind of uh strange but that’s how it’s uh probably the BMS is not very accurate and I’m going to go from stop full throttle to see how fast I can get. So I expect at least 13 m an hour that’s what competitor would reach. But based on the GPS so if it’s going to go faster than 30 m an hour on the top hill that’s bike it’s very powerful this bike. So it’s produced over 21 150 watt peak and it’s going about 16 miles an hour right now and dropping to 15 15 miles an hour. Wow. 50 mph. That’s actually the record for 52 volt system single motor. Easy. 50. Wow. It is faster than other ones I tested. So 50 mph it is fast. Um the other ones I tested before looks the same bike. If you follow my channel, you probably know which one. I’m going to test few times because that’s what I did before. So to see if it’s a battery will get overheated so far. It’s probably controller. I see 140 fing on display. So that’s probably controller. Maybe motor. I don’t know. I need to find out what’s the temperature for. I’m going to break. Actually, it’s uh braking without even locking the wheel because the tires are very good. They are not sliding. They’re basically just stopping. [Music] Like if you have like more tires, sometimes they just basically would slide, but they would get locked. This one is not. Of course, I would want to see like two two or three mm probably brakes. I think the brake stuck there, but okay. Now, we’re going to test one more time non-stop. And I’m going to do like five times, I guess. See if it will stop. Actually, it’s already 149 Fahrenheit, 150. It’s going 17 miles now. I think they basically release so much power in this controller. So in the motor, it just keep going 50 m an hour top hill. Wow, that’s like uh dual motors. 15 mph. That’s very powerful. So I would assume this bike have over 150 probably 160 N torque. Yeah, probably 160. Yep. Uh it’s more powerful than Ghost Cat. most more powerful than uh uh DRT I tested. So in 52 volt system uh so it is very powerful actually deton dual motors but uh made it with the same speed but both motors uh but this one is single produces much power very good but let’s try again going to just turn around. Wow, it’s too torquy. Have to be very careful. But if you are new to this bike, try to use only a pedalis one. You will have less power. And one more time. So this one is going to be third time going uphill. It is very steep hill and it’s already 159 firing gate. So, it’s probably a controller and I don’t really want to burn out this controller. But hey guys, I want to show you what this bike can do and what this bike can do, I guess. So, let’s see if it can do the same as other bike I tested to be fair enough. Okay, so it made about 40 miles now. So, it’s kind of start to reduce power because it start to overheat. I can see 161. So it is like about 80. Yeah, it’s about 80° outside. Breaking with the rear mode of brakes. And the brakes are not that loud. Some of them noisy coming out. You need to bet it, but not as loud actually. No, it doesn’t make that much noise as some other brand I reviewed. So again, it’s number four. And we’re going to do one more time after this and that’s it. Let’s see. Uh 161 firing gate on display. So it’s probably just uh controller and the controller is inside on uh above the bottom bracket. So it’s kind of in closed box. So that’s maybe overheating. But still going 15 miles an hour right now. Pretty strong. Dropping to 14 15. Actually I look on the 14 on the display. Actually it’s still going 14 miles an hour right now. 15. Yeah it’s hit 15 on the top hill. So actually the first time the third time was also 15 I guess because the speed on display about miles less versus on on GPS. So basically one more time we’re going to do test and that’s it if it’s nonstop and then I’ll go over the bike and you can decide if this bike for you. And it’s good position. It’s more like a little bit more aggressive, but it’s not very aggressive. It’s like a little bit lean forward. The seat actually so long. You can even move forward if I want to. And it’s comfortable. So, that’s a good part. The seat is actually feels longer. And looks like the brakes start to make noises. I think it’s uh cylinders might be stuck a little bit. That’s happen sometime when a new bike. Okay, let’s see how fast we can go. This is the fifth time. Most of the bicycle will never do this. It’s not healthy for the motor. It’s not healthy for controller. You can burn motor. You can burn the controller. Okay. So, it’s about 74 firing gate. I need to find out what is motor or controller. But it’s going about 14 m an hour on GPS. Yep. Still 40 mph. Actually 15 just hit. So I would say 15 on the top hill. Turn around. So again all the bicycles I tested over here 52 volt system. The fastest one was uh GCAT DRT. They was making I believe 30 miles an hour but I know Ghostad they upgrade the controller so they might be a little bit more powerful. Unfortunately I didn’t have a chance to test it the upgraded but I’m just comparing currently what I compare before it’s used to be 40 amp exactly actually they use exactly the same controller right now as the ghost cat. So they are exactly the same brand exactly 40 amp controller but looks like the motor more power and it’s produc a bit more peak power versus the ghost cat D9 the most powerful 52 volt system bicycle I ever tried so far. It’s come with the largest motor. You can see from the distance and it’s uh reached uh well I hit 36 miles now but I just want to be fair 35 would be very fair to say solid on GPS display showing me a little bit less on the hill 50 mph. It’s the steepest hill. Uh I think this is the fastest 52 volt system bicycle reach this hill on single motor and the tires it’s amazing you don’t get it’s actually the same tires which are gold bike use same exactly tires they use on the rear the innov so it’s exactly the same tires the fork is great it’s give you very nice uh travel which is 120 20 mm looks like. Um it is the same kind of design frame as ghost cat I would say but a bit um outdated. The ghost cat is more advanced I would say a bit different but I have zero problem with the bike so far. Amazing bike. It has a lot of features what people wants to see like key ignition, turn signals. Uh very nice shocks. And this bike it’s under $1,500 with my discount in description. This bike is not for everyone. If you’re new to ebicycles and you are like want more like street bicycle just to pedal, this is not bike for you because the pedaling is not going to be good. It’s awful going to be the same as most of the emo pedestal in this kind of class. Uh you can change the crank like to make it shorter. Okay, like this you can buy it and make it shorter. It will improve the pedaling a lot. But still it’s imopathalum. People buy this powerful bike without pedal. You can go basically any hill with no pedals. Okay, so you don’t really need to pedal. If you’re lighter person, you may get much faster speed. Probably 38 miles an hour probably. Okay, I got 35 easy and I’m 250 lbs. on display I can see much higher speed so it means you probably can go higher you probably will it will takes you more but again with my weight that’s very good result for single motor 52 volt system the motor let’s see how much right now actually it’s cooling down 147 now so again it’s the bike overheated I’m not sure if it’s like got hot controller or motor but I saw like over 174° degree firing gates but still bike made it with no issues whatsoever. So that’s a very good part. Again this bike is not for everyone. This is a very torquy, very powerful electric bicycle. It has basically everything you wish to have on the bike for very affordable price. I would say it’s very good price because also it come with aluminum frame. I know like some cheaper bicycles come with a steel frame. This aluminum aluminum cost more. This is uh actually one of the cheapest bike would in this kind of class 52 volt system with so much power would be with loaded with nice tires, very large motor, very good controller on this bike as well. 40 amp controller and just setup is very nice. The display is very large, very beautiful, and very clear to see everything. Again, this bike is not for everyone. If you find this bike for you, check link below if it’s available.
