[Music] Hello. Gary was meant to be calling me this morning. He sent a text to say he was delayed, but he still hasn’t called. I might just show you the map of Oh, that’s him now. Good morning, Dana. Just a quick uh call. Let you know what happened yesterday. Um this could be my last actually should be my last phone call with you today. Um uh okay, yesterday went to uh the Magic Roundabout in Swindon. Uh that’s a phenomenal bit of architecture, architecture, engineering, um design. It’s very clever. Uh went then to um Gold Hill in Shbury, but on the way I went through a Avery Stones. I completely forgot I’d be going there. So I saw that, bung the drone up, did a little bit of shot of that. Not fantastic because I’m not the greatest drone operator as you know. Um after that went to went to Gold Hill. If you don’t know what Gold Hill is, uh it’s it became famous. thanks to Ridley Scott in 1973 when he directed a commercial there for bread. So, um I’ll put a little clip of that up uh in in the uh in the piece. Um I hope you enjoy it and my dear, I will see you tonight. Bye-bye. So let me show you where he started in the Cotswwells and journeyed down to Swindon to see the magic roundabout next to Shafts to the cobbled street gold hill before heading to his last campsite of the tour in Lime Reges in Dorset. Quite enjoyed it. My first stop today will be at the Swindon Magic roundabout. If you don’t know what this is, I’ll tell you a little more about it when I’m there. [Music] [Music] This is the Swindon Magic roundabout. When the roundabout was first laid out in 1972, each mini roundabout was controlled by a police officer, which allowed them to see how drivers coped. Once the final design was established, they were permanently painted on. That is the mini roundabouts, not the police officers. And since then, very little has changed with the design. [Music] Oops, nearly missed it. This is the Abury Stones. [Music] [Music] These stones are believed to have been erected in the Neolithic period about 4 and a half thousand years ago. Now, I don’t know much about them, but I know a man who does. I will ask Dana to add a link in the description to Paul Whitewick’s channel. Please pay him a visit if you’d like to learn more. [Music] Next up, you’re riding from Wilshire into Somerset, then Dorset, briefly into Devon, and finally for today back into Dorset. I’m now in Shbury in Dorset because I want to take you to Gold Hill, a street that was made famous in 1973. 3 when Ridley Scott directed a commercial for Hov’s Bread. Last stop on round of the old man Peggy’s place. It was like taking bread to the top of the world. It was a grand ride back though. I knew Baker would have kelon and slices of hot ready.
