What I’m trying to do: push with my arms into the face of the jump, keep my weight centered, and softly jump as leave the lip and bend my knees a bit once in the air.

  1. Does it look like I’m doing that?
  2. Is this what I should be doing? If not, what should I be trying to do?
  3. Will what I’m currently doing transfer safely into similar jumps that require more speed or jumps with a steeper lip?

Technique critique?

If you go a bit faster here you’ll have to work less to clear the jumps and it will look smoother and probably feel more natural

Your soft jump is way too early. Your legs are fully extended on some of these before your front wheel has even crested the lip. Essentially you’re skipping most of the takeoff. You should be compressing with your legs through the transition, then shifting your weight back as the front wheel crests the lip, and extending your legs to jump as your rear wheel reaches the lip.

  3. Go faster.

It looks like you are over compensating going slow by trying too hard. That’s throwing your timing out.

Also, pump the down slopes through the bottom. You are too stiff. You should be able to gain speed if you pump right.

  4. Try not to pull up the bike so much. If you have enough speed thte bike should pop with minimal lift up force.
