  1. Nowhere near enough Info.

Where are you riding, whats the build spec, whats the price, and are they both the correct size for you.

In general the Status seems to get kinda meh reviews and people seem to like the slash, but also depends on the year.

With the lmited info, I’d rather have the Slach and that’s coming from a Specialized fan.

The status is an extremely fun bike and they come stock with a pretty solid spec. I have the 160 and it rips especially for the riding you want to do. Never ridden the trek but they get good reviews. Both those bikes are probably nearly identical spec, looks like the have code brakes, probably nx drivetrains maybe the trek has gx idk. One has rockshox the other has fox. I’d say they’re about the same in terms of “best deal”. You said the status is basically brand new so that probably justifies the slightly higher price. If you can bounce around on both and see which one you like more. Bonus points if you can actually ride them. Buy the bike you think feels the best not what parts list is the best. Parts break and wear out you’ll end up changing stuff. Drivetrain parts are pretty affordable if you don’t get the fanciest stuff. Do you prefer fox or rockshox? That might be your deciding factor.
