Happy Friday! Is this the right way to hold a bike? Reason ask is that I receive different version of how a bike should hold with the position. Thanks!
My bike shop says never to clamp the frame, always the seat post. Aero seat post needs a special clamp

I frequently clamp my steel frame bike like this (but I don’t usually lean it this far forward), but usually the clamp is used on the seat post for carbon frames.

do NOT clamp a stand on carbon frame!!! i have seen a way too many snap from the pressure being applied either by the clamp or the torque of working on another part of the bike. not a good idea!!! also use a few layers of paper towel or foam between the actual clamp and the seat post to prevent cracking as well!

Clamp on something replaceable, like the seatpost, or hang it off the seat. Also important, put it in the stand so you can get at the drive line.

If you plan on working on the bike then put the drive side OUT. And personally i would never clamp my bike by the top tube, seat post only.

Your bike your choice but when the clamp damages the carbon frame Pinarello will point you to the part on their guarantee that says only ever clamp using the seatpost and refuse your claim.

Definitely on the seat post. You can use tape to mark it’s riding height.

Do what my dad did. Make a baby (me for example) and make them hold the bike and spin the wheels

I’m not OP, I have an aluminum frame and carbon seat post. Where should I clamp?

Fuck no ! There are a million videos on YouTube telling you why you shouldn’t do this. If you can’t clamp your seat post, buy a Silca Horbell. I purchased one for my Bianchi Infinito, never looked back. Google it. YMMV.

I hang it on the top tube because of a short seatpost but I never clamp it.
Wrap the saddle front with piping foam and clamp that
Now tell it to open wide and say ahhhh.
