Hi everyone,
I live in Istanbul and own a 4-speed Brompton T-Line. I’ve made a couple of upgrades already — removed the mudguards and swapped out the seatpost and saddle. The bike currently weighs around 7.3 kg.
Because of customs restrictions in Turkey (no overseas orders above €30 allowed), I plan to order some parts while I’m in Denmark this November. Here’s what I’m considering so far:
1. Extralite UltraLevers 3 – link
• Original T-Line brake levers are around 78g, these are 48g, so about 60g saved.
2. Extralite HyperGrips – link
• Estimate around 20–30g saved.
3. H&H Tensioner – link
• Around 38g saved.
Other thoughts:
• I’ve considered wheels, but they’re expensive and don’t save much weight.
• I’m also looking at eeBrakes, but I don’t think Brompton-specific versions are out yet.
Question:
Are there any other meaningful weight-saving upgrades you’d recommend for a T-Line?
I’m trying to be smart about cost vs. weight saved — open to suggestions before I place my orders in November.
Thanks in advance!

What a beauty! Chapeau!
Don’t buy the H&H tensioner, the spring isn’t strong enough and the chain falls off. Get the extralite 3s, theyre a bit lighter and the pull is less, If you can afford the extralite crankset that would be the best upgrade to save weight and is strong. Your wheels are already really light compared to what’s on the market.
I also added xpedo m force pedal. Over 100 gaining from this
