Can it roll with saddle or only with handlebar? I watched the Brompton YouTube but it only mentions handlebar rolling with C and A. It has another video rolling with saddle with T and P though. Thank you.

  1. You can kind of roll it by the seat, but you won’t really want to. To keep it securely folded up you need to have the seat post pushed pretty far down. If it’s not pushed down all the way, the bike will unfold when you don’t want it to while rolling it. It doesn’t roll very elegantly or in a stable way unless you have a rack with wheels.

Thank you for the replies. 👍👍

I also reckon it rolls much smoother with the handlebar, just if the saddle works would be nice when space is tight.

  3. You can also put a small strap to keep it closed and use the seat fully raised or an aftermarket block that will keep it closed almost all the way up like the P and T line

  4. I have both a 6speed and a 12 speed with the rack which I partly bought because of “rolling with the seat up” but it’s honestly not comfortable at all.

There’s a threshold where the bike doesn’t come unfolded with the seat post down. That threshold is much higher on the 12 speed than on the 6 speed, but it is still so far down it is just uncomfortable. It’s possible I’m doing something wrong, but I’ve given up on it.

  5. You can roll the Brompton C line 12-speed by the saddle. It has the same rear triangle and stopping block that the P line has.

ETA: You can raise the saddle higher to roll it because the stopping block is higher than the “stop disc” on the previous version.
