Hey everyone 🙂
I bought the Canyon Commuter 7 not too long ago and thought I’d share my experience so far since I haven't seen many reviews on this awesome bike online. In general, I’m really satisfied, though it’s not perfect.

The bike showed up mostly assembled. Assembly was straightforward, but I did notice a small dent and scratch on the bottom frame right out of the box. It doesn’t affect the ride, but it was certainly a bit sad to see a dent on your brand new bike. One odd thing is that they don’t include grease for the pedals, so you’ll need to have some on hand.

On the road, the bike feels smooth and stable. It's light and a pretty fun ride. The tyres are wide enough to feel secure on city streets, and I’ve found the upright riding position comfortable for commuting. It uses Supernova E3 Pure3 lights, and they are excellent, it's much brighter than I expected. The tail light is also very elegantly fit into the back fenders.

There are a couple of quirks. The crank sits low, so pedal clearance isn’t great. I’ve already scraped a couple of times on corners and stairs. It’s something you get used to by remembering to lift the inside pedal, but worth keeping in mind if you’re considering it. The front disc brakes needed calibration at first since they were brushing and making noise. After that tweak, it's been quiet.

Other nice touches: the belt drive means no chain grease on your pants. The internal cable routing also gives the whole bike a sleek look. The kick stand is stolid and stable.

Overall, really happy with the purchase. If I had to rate it, I'd give it an 8/10. Would've been higher if their packaging was better to avoid dents/scratches during transportation.

  1. Thank you for this. Wish more people reviewed Canyon’s non-road bikes as they seem to have solid options. I’m considering the new Citylite bike and like you mention, there’s very few if any reviews for that bike.
